- أعلن الرئيس عدلي منصور في 7 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر من عام 2013 أن مصر ستقوم بإعادة تشغيل برنامجها النووي في الضبعة؛ حيث توصلت لاتفاق مع السكان يقضي ببناء مفاعل نووي هناك دون وجود خطر عليهم. اعتبر وزير الكهرباء المصري أحمد إمام هذه الخطوة بالخطوة للمهمة ووصفها «بالضرورية» باعتبار أن مصر تتوفر على كمية صغيرة من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة وليس لديها ما يكفي من الوقود. - President Adly Mansour announced on 7 November 2013 that Egypt was restarting its nuclear power program in El Dabaa; a deal was reached with the residents in which it was agreed that a residential area will also be built. The Egyptian minister of electricity, Ahmed Emam, has called the project "necessary" because of a small amount of renewable energy sources and not enough fuel. (en)
- Nel 2021 l'energia nucleare in Egitto ha generato lo 0% dell'energia elettrica prodotta in totale nel Paese. Nella seconda metà del 2021 è previsto l'inizio della costruzione della prima la centrale nucleare situata ad El Dabaa, nel Governatorato di Matruh, a circa 130 km a nordest del Cairo. La produzione di energia dovrebbe partire nal 2026. (it)
