- S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications ou en français : « École Newhouse de communication de l'université de Syracuse ». Cette école enseigne le journalisme écrit ou dans les médias vivants (exemple : internet, télévision, radio) mais aussi la conception graphique, la publicité, les relations publiques et la télévision et le cinéma. L'école tient son nom de (en), et surtout mécène de l'école, dont la donation généreuse a permis la construction du premier bâtiment en 1964, le bâtiment « Newhouse 1 », dessiné par l'architecte I.M. Pei. Depuis le 1er juillet 2008, soit 14 ans, 5 mois et 19 jours, la doyenne de l'école est Lorraine Branham, ancienne journaliste et doyenne de l'école de journaliste de l'université du Texas à Austin. L'école possède environ 70 enseignants à temps plein et 50 enseignants-adjoints. 1 900 étudiants en premier cycle, 250 en cycle supérieur et 13 en doctorat. - The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commonly known as Newhouse School, is the communications and journalism school of Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. It has programs in print and broadcast journalism; music business; graphic design; advertising; public relations; and television, radio and film. The school was named after publishing magnate Samuel Irving Newhouse Sr., founder of Advance Publications, who provided the founding gift in 1964. Mark J. Lodato has been the dean of the Newhouse School since July 2020. The school includes about 80 full-time faculty members and about 50 adjunct instructors. Enrollment includes approximately 2,000 undergraduate students, 180 residential master’s degree students, 200 online master's degree students, and 15 doctoral degree candidates as of 2022.
