- The New Republic (Romanian: Noua Republică) is a political party in Romania. It was established in October 2011 as a grassroots movement inspired by a manifesto on blogs and center-right platforms. The movement grew and spawned more than 40 branches around the country. The first President was Mihail Neamțu, an intellectual who entered politics. The Vice President is George Mioc. On 16 March 2015, Neamțu announced he was stepping down to focus more on his family. George Mioc also left the party in 2015. On 19 September 2015 the party had the fourth Congress in Bucharest and voted a new statute and a new president. (en)

Op 29 januari 2013 werd het burgerplatform omgevormd tot een liberaal Christelijke politieke partij. De partij werd opgericht door christelijk filosoof . Op 19 september 2015 werd er een nieuw partijstatuut aangenomen en werd ondernemer en voorzitter van de Boekarest district 3 tot partijleider verkozen. Op 16 maart 2016 trok Michael Neamţu zich terug uit de partij om, naar eigen zeggen, zich met zijn familie bezig te houden. (nl)

È stato fondato nella forma dell'Associazione Nuova Repubblica, essendo inizialmente una piattaforma civica con personalità giuridica, svolgendo la propria attività sulla base del documento di fondazione di questa associazione. Il 29 gennaio 2013, il partito è diventato un partito politico. Il 16 marzo 2016, Neamţu ha annunciato il suo ritiro per prendersi più cura della famiglia.
