- Lucrezia P 180 est un opéra en 1 acte et 3 tableaux d'Ottorino Respighi sur un livret de Claudio Guastalla, basé sur Ab Urbe condita libri de Tite-Live et sur la pièce de Shakespeare The Rape of Lucrece. Respighi est décédé avant d'avoir terminé la composition, qui a cependant été complétée par la veuve du compositeur, Elsa Respighi, et un de ses élèves, Ennio Porrino. Lucrezia a été créée le 24 février 1937 à la Scala de Milan sous la direction de Gino Marinuzzi, dans une production dirigée par Mario Frigerio avec des décors de Peter Aschieri. La première a eu un bon accueil. La partition a été publiée par Ricordi à Milan en 1936. Une des particularités de Lucrezia est la présence de la Voix, un personnage qui chante depuis l'orchestre et décrit ce qui se déroule sur la scène ainsi que les sentiments des autres personnages. Lucrezia was much appreciated by the famous Italian musicologist Andrea Della Corte, who considered this opera as one of the best stage works of Respighi, thanks to the accomplished balance of expressivity and musical skill. One of the distinctive features of Lucrezia is the presence of the Voice, a character that sings from within the orchestra and describes what is happening on the stage and the emotions of the other characters. Nella stessa serata vennero rappresentate anche altre composizioni di Respighi: Maria Egiziaca e Gli uccelli. Andrea Della Corte apprezzò molto l'opera, giudicandola la migliore tra le composizioni per il teatro di Respighi, per l'equilibrio di espressioni e tecniche. Una particolarità di questo lavoro consiste nella presenza della Voce, un personaggio che canta dall'orchestra descrivendo alcune scene e le emozioni degli altri personaggi. (it)
