- Das Long Beach Blues Festival wurde 1980 gegründet und war zusammen mit dem San Francisco Blues Festival und dem Chicago Blues Festival eines der bedeutendsten in den USA. Es fand am Samstag und Sonntag des Labor-Day-Wochenendes statt und wurde seit der 29. Auflage in der Rainbow Lagoon in Downtown Long Beach abgehalten. Die ersten 28 Auflagen fanden im Campus der California State University, Long Beach statt. Veranstaltet wurde das Festival von KKJZ, einer mit öffentlichen Geldern unterstützten Radiostation auf dem Gelände der California State University, die Jazz und Blues sendet. Zweck des Festivals war es auch, Gelder für den Sender aufzubringen. Nach 2010 fand das Festival nicht mehr statt. (de)

- The Long Beach Blues Festival, in Long Beach, California, United States, was established in full in 1980, and was one of the largest blues festivals and was the second oldest on the West Coast (first being the San Francisco Blues Festival). It was held on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend. For many years it was held on the athletic field on the California State University, Long Beach campus. The 2009 festival, the 30th annual, was held at Rainbow Lagoon in downtown Long Beach. The Festival went on hiatus in 2010, and has not been held since. The festival was organized and used as a fund raiser by KKJZ, a publicly supported radio station on the CSULB campus broadcasting blues and jazz in Southern California. (en)
