- L'Associació de Congressos i Convencions Internacionals, ICCA per les seves sigles en anglès (International Congress and Convention Association) va ser fundada en l'any 1963 per un grup d'agents de viatges amb l'objectiu d'intercanviar informació sobre congressos i convencions internacionals. Les seves oficines centrals són a Amsterdam, Països Baixos. La ICCA és una associació comercial sense ànim de lucre el principal propòsit del qual és el de ser la comunitat global de l'organització de congressos que permeti als seus membres adquirir i mantenir un avantatge competitiu significatiu. Té gairebé un miler de membres repartits en uns 90 països arreu del món. Aquests membres es classifiquen en diferents sectors segons el tipus d'empresa, com poden ser: màrqueting de destinació, organització d'esdeveniments, assessorament en esdeveniments, transport, lloc de reunió i membres honoraris. Les empreses i organitzacions que formen part de l'associació i que estan situades a la mateixa àrea geogràfica es divideixen en divisions. Les divisions són: Divisió Africana, Àsia Pacífic, Europea Central, França-Benelux, Ibèrica, Llatinoamericana, Mediterrània, Orient Mitjà, Nord-americana, Escandinava i Regne Unit/Irlanda. El propòsit pel qual es divideixen els membres en sectors i divisions és el de permetre el contacte entre membres que tenen certs aspectes en comú i així reforçar les seves activitats comercials en la indústria de la qual formen part. La ICCA pertany a la següents organitzacions globals: (CIC), (JMIC), Organització Mundial del Turisme (OMT) i la (UIA). Sus oficinas centrales están situadas en Ámsterdam, Países Bajos. La ICCA es una asociación comercial sin ánimo de lucro cuyo principal propósito es el de ser la comunidad global de la organización de congresos que permita a sus miembros adquirir y mantener una ventaja competitiva significativa. Tiene casi 1.000 miembros repartidos en unos 90 países alrededor del mundo. Estos miembros se clasifican en diferentes sectores según el tipo de empresa, como pueden ser: marketing de destino, organización de eventos, asesoramiento en eventos, transporte, lugar de reunión y miembros honorarios. Las empresas y organizaciones que forman parte de la asociación y que están situadas en la misma área geográfica se dividen en divisiones. Las divisiones son:División Africana, Asia Pacífico, Europea Central, Francia-Benelux, Ibérica, Latinoamericana, Mediterráneaa, Oriente Medio, Norteamericana, Escandinava y Reino Unido/Irlanda. - The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) was founded in 1963 by a group of travel agents to exchange information on international congresses and conventions. Headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the ICCA is a nonprofit trade organization whose primary purpose is to be the global community for the meetings industry, enabling its members to generate and maintain significant competitive advantage. It has over 1,000 members in over 90 different countries. The members are divided by the type of the company into different sectors which include: destination marketing, meetings management, meetings support, transport, venues and honorary members. The member companies and organisations situated in the same geographical area are divided into chapters. The divided chapters include:African, Asia Pacific, Central European, France-BeneLux, Iberian, Latin American, Mediterranean, Middle East, North American, Scandinavian and UK/Ireland Chapter. The purpose of dividing the members into sectors and chapters is to enable networking between those members which have certain aspects in common in order to enhance their business activities in the industry. The ICCA is a member of the following global organisations: Convention Industry Council (CIC), Joint Meetings Industry Council (JMIC), World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Union of International Associations (UIA).
