- Als Heckeraufstand bezeichnet man den Versuch der badischen Revolutionsführer Friedrich Hecker, Gustav Struve und mehrerer anderer Radikaldemokraten, im April 1848 im Großherzogtum Baden die Ziele der Märzrevolution durchzusetzen, die Monarchie zu stürzen und eine Republik zu errichten. In der Hauptaktion des Aufstands, dem sogenannten Heckerzug, zog eine Freischar von mehreren hundert Bewaffneten unter Heckers Führung von Konstanz in Richtung Karlsruhe, um dort gemeinsam mit weiteren Freischaren die Regierung zu stürzen. Heckers Gruppe wurde jedoch bereits vor dem Zusammenschluss von Truppen des Deutschen Bundes im Gefecht auf der Scheideck militärisch gestoppt. Der gescheiterte Heckeraufstand war der erste große Aufstand der Badischen Revolution und wurde, wie auch sein Anführer, zu einem politischen Mythos. (de)
- The Hecker uprising was an attempt in April 1848 by Baden revolutionary leaders Friedrich Hecker, Gustav von Struve, and several other radical democrats to overthrow the monarchy and establish a republic in the Grand Duchy of Baden. The uprising first major clash in the Baden Revolution and among the first in the March Revolution in Germany, part of the broader Revolutions of 1848 across Europe. The main action of the uprising consisted of an armed civilian militia under the leadership of Friedrich Hecker moving from Konstanz on the Swiss border in the direction of Karlsruhe, the ducal capital, with the intention of joining with another armed group under the leadership of revolutionary poet Georg Herwegh there to topple the government. The two groups were halted independently by the troops of the German Confederation before they could combine forces. (en)
- La rivolta di Hecker (in tedesco: Heckeraufstand) fu un tentativo avvenuto nell'aprile del 1848 da parte dei capito rivoluzionari badensi Friedrich Hecker, Gustav von Struve, e di altri democratici radicali di rovesciare la monarchia nel Granducato di Baden ed instaurarvi una repubblica. La rivolta fu il primo grande scontro della Rivoluzione del Baden e tra le prime rivoluzioni scoppiate in Germania nel 1848, parte delle rivoluzioni che in quello stesso anno colpirono l'intera Europa. L'azione venne perlopiù condotta dalla milizia locale sotto la guida di Friedrich Hecker che si spostò da Costanza, al confine con la Svizzera, in direzione di Karlsruhe, capitale granducale, con l'intento di unirsi ad un altro gruppo armato sotto la guida del poeta rivoluzionario Georg Herwegh per rovesciare il governo.
