- Harold Thomas Cottam (Southwell, Nottinghamshire, 27 de enero de 1891 – Lowdham, Nottinghamshire, 30 de mayo de 1984) fue un radiotelegrafista del barco RMS Carpathia, conocido principalmente por captar el SOS del transatlántico RMS Titanic durante su hundimiento. Fue Cottam quien despertó al capitán Arthur Henry Rostron tras recibir la señal de auxilio. Cottam's decision to awaken Captain Arthur Henry Rostron and relay Titanic's message in spite of the scepticism of the officer on watch allowed Carpathia to arrive at the scene hours before any other ship and is "credited with saving hundreds of lives." He was a personal friend of the Titanic's junior wireless operator and survivor Harold Bride. (en)
