- Der Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston ist ein Automobilrennen der höchsten Kategorie im American Championship Car Racing in Houston, Texas, Vereinigte Staaten. Unter dem Namen Texaco Grand Prix of Houston fand die Veranstaltung 1998 erstmals im Rahmen der CART-Serie auf dem statt. Bis 2001 blieb der Grand Prix auf der Strecke, die in der Nähe des George R. Brown Convention Center war. 2006 kehrte der Grand Prix of Houston in die Champ-Car-Serie zurück. Diesmal wurde der im als Austragungsort gewählt. Nach der Einstellung der Champ-Car-Serie zum Saisonende 2007 wurde der Grand Prix of Houston erneut eingestellt. 2013 kehrte das Rennen unter dem Namen Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston in die IndyCar Series zurück. Die Veranstaltung blieb im Reliant Park, die Strecke wurde in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Speedway umbenannt und leicht modifiziert. (de)

It was held in a street circuit located in downtown Houston for four years, then returned after a four-year hiatus for two years on a course laid out in the parking lot of the Reliant/NRG Park complex. Before resuming in 2013, the last race was held on April 22, 2007, (with the IRL merger canceling the 2008 event just two months prior to the event). (en)

La competencia fue fecha puntuable de Champ Car y la Fórmula Atlantic en todas sus ediciones hasta 2007, la American Le Mans Series en 2006 y 2007, la IndyCar Series desde 2013, y la Indy Lights en 2000 y 2013. En la primera etapa del Gran Premio de Houston (1998 a 2001), la carrera usó un recorrido de 2457 metros cerca del centro de convenciones George R. Brown, y tuvo lugar la última semana de septiembre o la primera de octubre. En la segunda etapa (2006 y 2007), la carrera se corrió en un trazado de 2720 metros en la zona del Reliant Park: la edición de 2006 se disputó en mayo, y la de 2007 en abril.
