- The Galway County Boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) (Irish: Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae na Gaillimhe) or Galway GAA are one of the 32 county boards in Ireland; they are responsible for Gaelic games in County Galway, and for the Galway county teams. Galway is one of the few dual counties in Ireland, competing in a similar level in both hurling and football codes. Prior to amalgamation of the hurling and football county boards into one county board, each of the two codes were previously run by their separate boards in Galway, which was unusual for a dual county. The county football team was the first from the province of Connacht to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), but the second to appear in the final, following Mayo. It contests the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship via the Connacht Senior Football Championship. It is currently in Division 1 of the National Football League. The county hurling team contests the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship via the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship. It is currently in Division 1 of the National Hurling League. (en)

- Le Galway GAA est une sélection sportive irlandaise basée dans la province de Connacht et pratiquant les sports gaéliques : hurling, football gaélique et camogie. Fondé en 1887, le Galway GAA évolue au Pearse Stadium (26 197 places) situé à Galway ou au (6 000 places) situé à Tuam. Contrairement à la plupart des comtés de la GAA, Galway dispose de deux comités distincts, le Football Gaélique sous la direction du Galway football board et le Hurling dirigé par the Galway hurling board, cette séparation implique des blasons, maillots et sponsors différents. - Il Galway County Board, più conosciuto come Galway GAA è uno dei 32 county boards irlandesi responsabile della promozione degli sport gaelici nella contea di Galway e dell'organizzazione dei match della propria rappresentativa (Galway GAA è usato anche per indicare le franchigie degli sport gaelici della contea) con altre contee. Galway è il più classico esempio di Dual County, una contea dove hurling e calcio gaelico sono giocati allo stesso livello. La dualità della contea era rimarcata in passato anche da un fatto piuttosto anomalo anche per le altre dual county: le franchigie e l'organizzazione delle due discipline sono stati per molto tempo controllati da due dirigenze interne separate, col risultato che le rappresentative scendevano in campo con divise, sponsor e perfino stemmi diversi. Questa situazione è cambiata dal 2013, con unione di dirigenze, stemmi, sponsor e divise. La distinzione delle dirigenze rifletteva anche alla divisione delle zone a maggiore influenza dell'uno o dell'altro sport, come se si trattasse effettivamente di due diverse contee territoriali. Tutt'oggi il calcio gaelico si gioca soprattutto nella regione del Connemara, nelle Isole Aran, a Ballinasloe ed Inishbofin, mentre l'hurling prevale nel sud della contea e a Est. Nel capoluogo ci sono forti rappresentative per entrambi gli sport. (it)
