- Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche (b. 23 Oct 1964) is the title of a tulku lineage of Tibetan Buddhist lamas. They originate with Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye, one of the most illustrious lamas of recent history, known for his central role in the rimé or non-sectarian movement in 19th Century Tibet. Jigme Namgyel (b. 1964) is the present Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. He is the second or third incarnation, depending on whether Lodro Thaye is counted (he was not known as "Dzigar Kongtrul"—that lineage is one of five distinct subsequent variants beginning after his death). - Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoché Jigme Namgyel (né le 23 octobre 1964 en Inde) est un maitre du bouddhisme tibétain, tulkou d’un grand enseignant du XIXe siècle. Il est peintre expressionniste abstrait. Il est né peu de temps avant la fondation de la colonie tibétaine de Bir par son père, le troisième Neten Chokling Rinpoché. À l’âge de neuf ans, il a été reconnu par Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoché comme Dzigar Kongtrül Rinpoché , une incarnation de Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö Thayé qui a également été appelé « le Grand » parce qu’il était un cofondateur du mouvement Rimé ; plus tard cela a été confirmé par le 16e karmapa. Son père meurt la même année ; deux ans plus tard, il est officiellement intronisé à Chokling Gompa à Bir. Il a reçu la formation bouddhiste tibétaine complète en tant que lama au sein de l'école Nyingma. Son professeur principal était Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoché. En 1989, il a déménagé avec sa famille aux États-Unis, où il a fondé Jigmé Samten Chöling, un centre de retraite dans le Colorado. (fr)

Zijn geboorte was kort voordat de Tibetaanse nederzetting in Bir werd gesticht door zijn vader, de derde Neten Chokling Rinpoche. Op zijn negende werd hij door Dilgo Khyentse als Dzigar kongtrül rinpoche erkend, als incarnatie van die ook wel "de Grote" werd genoemd omdat hij medestichter was van de Rimé-beweging, later werd dit bevestigd door de zestiende karmapa. In datzelfde jaar overleed zijn vader en twee jaar later werd hij officieel getroond van Chokling Gompa in Bir.
