- Das Bistum Recanati (lateinisch Recinetensis) war ein römisch-katholisches Bistum in Italien mit Sitz in Recanati, Marken. Es wurde am 22. November 1239 gegründet. Am 9. Februar 1592 wurde es mit dem zum Bistum Recanati e Loreto vereinigt. Am 15. September 1934 wurde der Name zurück in Bistum Recanati geändert, und Loreto mit dem Marienheiligtum wurde am 11. Oktober 1935 als Apostolische Administratur Loreto aus dem Bistum herausgelöst. Am 25. Januar 1985 wurde es mit den , und Teilen des zum Bistum Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia vereinigt. Anfangs verlor es häufiger den Status als Bistum, wegen der päpstlichen Politik, und erlangte diesen wieder. Der Dom San Flaviano ist Konkathedrale und Basilica minor. (de)
- The Diocese of Recanati was a Roman Catholic diocese in Italy. It was founded in 1240 by Pope Gregory IX. Its principal church, S. Flaviano, was raised to the dignity of a cathedral on 21 December 1239, and separated from the jurisdiction of the diocese of Osimo. The diocese of Osimo was suppressed, having chosen to support the Emperor Frederick II against the pope. On 22 May 1240, the Castello di Recanati was raised to the dignity of a city by Gregory IX. During its early history it often lost and regained its episcopal status due to Papal politics. On 27 July 1263 the diocese was completely suppressed by Pope Urban IV in the Bull Cives Recanatensis, due to its support of Manfred, who claimed the Kingdom of Sicily. (en)
