- De Gooyer is a windmill in Amsterdam located between Funenkade and Zeeburgerstraat. It is the tallest wooden mill in the Netherlands at 26.6 meters high. It is registered as a National Monument. The names dates from the around 1609, when the mill was owned by Claes and Jan Willemsz, two brothers from Gooiland. It is also known as "The Funenmolen" ("The Mill on the Funen"). The Gooyer consists of a stone foundation topped by a wooden octagonal body. The mill is owned by the municipality of Amsterdam and is not open to visitors. Although the blades are functional, they no longer operate any grinding mechanism. Next to the mill, in the former municipal bathhouse dating back to 1911, is the Brouwerij 't IJ. The mill and the bathhouse building are unrelated, and the mill fulfils no function for the brewery despite the image of a mill being in the brewery logo. Dutch Rijksmonument 1107 (en)
- Le moulin De Gooyer est le nom d'un moulin à galerie situé à Amsterdam entre la Sarphatistraat et la Singelgracht sur le quai Funen. L'envergure du moulin est de 26,6 m. Ce moulin est le dernier d'un important groupe de moulins à blé implantés entre le XVIIe siècle et fin du XIXe siècle sur les remparts extérieurs du Singelgracht. À l'époque cette situation, à la périphérie de la ville, était idéale, ils bénéficiaient ainsi de suffisamment de vent. Les derniers moulins de ce groupe à l'exception du De Gooyer ont été démolis vers 1900. Le moulin d'origine fut construit au XVIe siècle. Il fut ensuite plusieurs fois déplacé et détruit. En 1725 il fut reconstruit à l'actuel emplacement de la caserne Orange Nassau. Enfin en 1814, le moulin est à nouveau déplacé et reconstruit au quai de Funen sur les fondations d'un moulin à eau détruit en 1812. Le moulin perdit ses ailes pendant une tempête le 13 novembre 1972. Celles-ci furent replacées quelques années plus tard, à l'occasion d'une restauration. Le moulin est propriété de la ville d'Amsterdam et n'est pas visitable. Au pied du de ce moulin, un ancien bâtiment de bains publics abrite aujourd'hui une brasserie artisanale, la Brouwerij 't IJ. Le moulin doit son nom au fait qu'il offre une vue imprenable sur le paysage de la région nommée Het Gooi. (fr)

De molen dankt zijn naam volgens sommige bronnen aan het feit dat de molen door zijn hoogte uitkijkt over Het Gooi, andere bronnen melden dat de naam afkomstig is van twee voormalige eigenaars die afkomstig waren uit het Gooiland. De Gooyer bestaat uit twee op elkaar geplaatste houten achtkanten op een stenen onderbouw. De molen is eigendom van Stadsherstel Amsterdam en is niet te bezichtigen. De vlucht van de molen bedraagt 26,6 meter. In het naastgelegen voormalige Gemeentelijke Badhuis uit 1911, gevestigd aan Funenkade 7, is Brouwerij 't IJ gevestigd. In tegenstelling tot wat velen denken vormen molen en voormalig badhuis noch in historisch, noch in bouwkundig opzicht een geheel. De molen vervult ook geen enkele functie voor deze brouwerij, anders dan dat zij staat afgebeeld op de etiketten van de brouwerij. (nl)
