David L. Brewer (born May 19, 1946) is a retired vice admiral of the United States Navy and former superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District. In January 1997, Vice Adm. Brewer took command of Amphibious Group 3 in San Diego, California. In July 1997, he was nominated for promotion to the rank of Rear Adm. (Upper Half).
