He was appointed co-manager of the Tyrone senior football team in November 2020 alongside Feargal Logan, succeeding Mickey Harte. He won three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, five Ulster Senior Football Championship and two National League titles with the county. He has also won three All Star Awards, and six Ulster All-Stars - the joint leader with Kieran McGeeney and Steven McDonnell. Dooher played his club football for Clann na nGael. Dooher was renowned for his hardworking playing style, often doing the gritty, unfashionable work, like picking up the ball in defence, to feed the forward players. He was also an accurate point scorer. Although he usually started in the half-forward line, his roaming nature meant he was rarely ever stationed there for very long. His contributions to the game did not go unnoticed by his teammates, as Seán Cavanagh remarked in 2003 how "I wouldn't be able to [play to my strengths] without Brian's workrate." In the same article, the Irish Examiner said, "it would be no exaggeration to call him the hardest working footballer in Ireland." He is a father to Shea Dooher, Jack Dooher (en)

  • Éireannach is ea Brian Ó Dúichar (Béarla: Brian Dooher) a d’imir Peil Ghaelach ar son Thír Eoghain idir 1995 agus 2011. Agus é ag imirt ar son Thír Eoghain, bhain sé trí , cúig Chraobh Peile Uladh agus dhá Shraith Náisiúnta amach. Tá trí Uile-Réalta bainte aige chomh maith le sé Uile-Réalta Uladh. Imríonn sé ar son Chlann na nGael arb é a chlub áitiúil é. Thabhaigh sé clú dó féin mar gheall ar a stíl imeartha dhíograiseach dhíbhirceach. Bhí a shliocht sin air, óir cé gur sa líne leath-thosach is mó a ainmníodh é, níor fhan sé ina mhuinín sin agus níorbh annamh dó obair na gcapall a dhéanamh i measc chosantóirí a fhoirne féin. Lena chois seo, is é a bhí deas ar chúilíní a scoráil. Ní raibh na himreoirí eile san fhoireann dall ar a luach mar imreoir, nó mar a dúirt Seán Caomhánach, “ní den áibhéil a rá gurb é an peileadóir is dúthrachtaí in Éirinn é.” Is tréadlia é, a cháileadh in COBÁC, agus atá ag cleachtadh a ghairm, fán tuath, i gcontae Doire.
