- Unter der Bezeichnung Boston National Historical Park werden Orte in der Stadt Boston im Bundesstaat Massachusetts der Vereinigten Staaten zusammengefasst, die eine bedeutende Rolle während der Amerikanischen Revolution gespielt haben. Das Konstrukt wurde am 1. Oktober 1974 als National Historical Park eingetragen. Sieben der insgesamt acht zum Park gehörenden Orte sind über den Freedom Trail miteinander verbunden. Im Gegensatz zum Park befinden sich die meisten der Gebäude selbst nicht im Eigentum des National Park Service (NPS) und werden auch nicht vom NPS verwaltet. Vielmehr wurden mit den jeweiligen Eigentümern zum Zeitpunkt der Einrichtung des Parks Kooperationsvereinbarungen geschlossen. Die Parkverwaltung unterhält Besucherzentren in der Innenstadt, am Boston Naval Shipyard und innerhalb des Bunker Hill Museums in der Nähe des Bunker Hill Monuments. Alle acht Stationen des Parks sind als National Historic Landmark in das National Register of Historic Places eingetragen. - The Boston National Historical Park is an association of sites that showcase Boston's role in the American Revolution and other parts of history. It was designated a national park on October 1, 1974. Seven of the eight sites are connected by the Freedom Trail, a walking tour of downtown Boston. All eight properties are National Historic Landmarks. Five of the sites that make up the park are neither owned nor operated by the National Park Service, and operate through cooperative agreements established upon the park's creation. The park service operates visitor centers in Faneuil Hall and at the Charlestown Navy Yard. Boston National Historical Park, along with Boston African American and Boston Harbor Islands, comprise the National Parks of Boston, all under the same superintendent. (en)
