The Boston Latin School is a public exam school in Boston, Massachusetts. It was established on April 23, 1635, making it both the oldest public school in the British America and the oldest existing school in the United States. Die Unterrichtspläne folgen dem Curriculum der Lateinschulen des 18. Jahrhunderts, welche die Klassische Altertumswissenschaft als Grundlage eines gebildeten Geistes ansehen. Vier Jahre Lateinunterricht sind für alle Schüler verpflichtend, die als 7th Grade in die Schule eintreten, drei Jahre für alle 9th Grade. 2007 erzielte die Schule im U.S. News & World Report eine Platzierung in den Top 20 der US-amerikanischen High Schools.
