- Bubi, bube, Bohobé, o Bube–Benga (Bobe, Bubi) és una llengua bantu o bantoide parlada pels bubis, un poble bantu nadiu, i antigament poble principal, de l'illa de Bioko, a Guinea Equatorial. La llengua fou portada a Bioko des del continent fa uns 3.000 anys quan els bubis arribaren a l'illa. Té al voltant de 50.000 parlants amb tres variants: Nord, Sud i Centre-Est. Es caracteritza pel caràcter tonal i la divergència de les paraules pel gènere. L'idioma també és parlat per nadius bubi de Gabon i Camerun. La llengua bubi es divideix en sis dialectes diferents que varien a les regions nord i sud de l'illa de Bioko. Per exemple, al nord la gent parla Rebola i les seves variants: Basile, Banapa i Basupa. - Bube, Bohobé or Bube–Benga (Bobe, Bubi), is a Bantu language spoken by the Bubi, a Bantu people native to, and once the primary inhabitants of, Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea. The language was brought to Bioko from continental Africa more than three thousand years ago when the Bubi began arriving on the island. It has around 50,000 speakers, with three variants: North, South and Central-East. It is noted for its tonal character and the divergence of words by gender. The language is also spoken by Bubi native to Gabon and Cameroon. The Bube language is divided into six different dialects that vary in the northern and southern regions of Bioko Island. For example, in the North, people speak Rebola and its variations: Basile, Banapa and Basupa. However, in the North-East, Bakake is spoken. Bube is also spoken in a small area on the mainland closest to the island, where speakers are shifting to Wumboko. This has been reported as "Bube", "Bubia" or "Wovea" (see Wovea people). The first works on the Bube language were those of the Baptist missionary John Clarke, published in 1846 and 1848. A later Bube-to-English primer was authored in 1875 by William Barleycorn, a colonial era Primitive Methodist missionary of Igbo and Fernandino descent, while he was serving in the Bubi village of . Filogenéticamente es una lengua bantú que conserva arcaísmos nucleares del tronco Níger-Congo, antes de su ramificación, por lo que se considera que es una de las más antiguas de África, tiene carácter tonal y destaca por la divergencia de vocablos según el género. - Le bubi (ou bube) est une langue bantoue parlée en Guinée équatoriale dans l'île de Bioko (anciennement Fernando Poo) où se trouve la capitale, Malabo, ainsi qu’au Gabon et au Cameroun. Le bubi est une langue africaine qui garde un fond de ses origines autochtones, en un milieu insulaire, isolée du continent, dans son vocabulaire. Mais avec l'arrivée des Européens, Anglais, puis Espagnols, la langue autochtone d'origine adopte un nombre considérable de mots anglais, puis espagnols, dans son vocabulaire. Plus des 1/3 du vocabulaire est constitué de mots anglais, 1/3 de mots espagnols, et le reste des dialectes africains présents sur l'île avant la colonisation. La langue n'est pas écrite, ce qui explique qu'elle n'est pas considérée comme un créole. Elle est parlée au sein des foyers de l'île de Bioko. Généralement, les locuteurs du bubi parlent soit l'espagnol, soit l'anglais. Le nombre total de locuteurs est estimé à 60 000. Le bubi est proche du bubia, parlé au sud du Cameroun. (fr)
