- دوري أفريقيا لكرة السلة (بالإنجليزية: Basketball Africa League - BAL) هو الدوري الأفريقي الأول لكرة السلة للرجال المقرر أن يبدأ في 16 مايو 2021 بعد أن كان من المقرر أن يبدأ في 13 مارس 2020. يتكون الدوري من 12 فريق يتأهلون من خلال منافستهم المحلية. الدوري هو جهد مشترك ما بين إن بي إيه والاتحاد الدولي لكرة السلة وبرعاية نايكي، آير جوردن وبيبسي. بدأ الدوري موسمه الافتتاحي بجولات التصفيات في أكتوبر 2019 وبدأ الموسم العادي في مايو 2021. يحل الدوري محل كأس الأندية الأفريقية لكرة السلة ليصبح الدوري الأعلى مستوى في القارة. تم تأجيل الموسم الافتتاحي في 3 مارس 2020 بسبب جائحة فيروس كورونا. في 29 مارس 2021 ، أُعلن أن الموسم الافتتاحي سيبدأ في 16 مايو 2021 وينتهي في 30 مايو من نفس العام. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. Its inaugural season started with the qualifying rounds in October 2019 and the regular season in May 2021. The competition replaces FIBA's Africa Basketball League as the continent's top-tier league. BAL president, , announced at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game Africa Luncheon in Chicago, that the season will tip off on 13 March. At the event, Nike and Jordan unveiled the official jerseys for the twelve teams (six of the teams will be outfitted by Nike and the other six by Jordan). The BAL also launched the league's official website and social media accounts. The inaugural season was postponed on 3 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. En su las rondas clasificatorias comenzaron en octubre de 2019, y la liga regular en mayo de 2021. Esta competición reemplaza a la Africa Basketball League de la FIBA, como la mejor liga del continente africano. Creata con uno sforzo congiunto della National Basketball Association (NBA) e della FIBA, con la sponsorizzazione di Nike, Jordan Brand e Pepsi, la competizione si svolge tra dodici squadre, ognuna delle quali si è qualificata attraverso il proprio campionato nazionale, un po' come avviene per la UEFA Champions League e per la FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup, quest'ultima sostituita proprio dalla Basketball Africa League. La stagione inaugurale della competizione è iniziata con i turni di qualificazione, svolti nell'ottobre 2019, mentre, come comunicato dal presidente durante il NBA All-Star Weekend 2020 a Chicago, la stagione avrebbe dovuto prendere il via il 13 marzo 2020.
