- The Asian Cross Country Championships is a biennial regional cross country running competition for athletes from Asia. It is organised by the Asian Athletics Association and was first held in 1991 in Fukuoka, Japan. The competition has been held every two years since then, although the 2003 edition was postponed due to political conflicts within the region. The championships comprises four races: separate senior races for men and for women, and two corresponding junior races for the sexes. Furthermore, in each of the four races athletes compete simultaneously for both individual medals and team medals. For the team competitions, the final positions of the best finishing runners from each country are combined and the team with the lowest points total wins. Athletes and teams of Japan, China and Iran have historically been the most successful of the championships. However, Qatar and Bahrain have become increasingly dominant since 2005, led by a number of East African-born athletes who have transferred allegiance to the small Middle-Eastern states. The 2011 edition, set for February in Kathmandu, was postponed after the Nepalese government did not provide the requisite funds needed to host the event. China took over the hosting rights and held the 11th edition the following year in Qingzhen. The 2020 edition of the race, originally set for March in Hong Kong, was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. (en)
- Die Crosslauf-Asienmeisterschaften (englisch Asian Cross Country Championships) werden seit 1991 vom Kontinentalverband Asian Athletics Association ausgerichtet, um die Asienmeister im Crosslauf zu ermitteln. Die Meisterschaften bestehen aus Wettkämpfen für Männer, Frauen, Junioren und Juniorinnen. Für alle Wettbewerbe gibt es neben der Einzelwertung auch eine Teamwertung, in der die Platzierungen der besten Läufer einer Nation addiert werden und diejenige mit der geringsten Punktzahl gewinnt. Der Wettbewerb findet für gewöhnlich alle zwei Jahre statt. Ausnahmen davon bildeten das Jahr 2003, als aufgrund der politischen Situation in der Austragungsregion eine Verlegung in das Jahr 2004 erfolgte; und 2011, als der nepalesische Leichtathletikverband nicht das erforderliche Budget für die ursprünglich in Kathmandu geplante Austragung stellen konnte. Der Wettkampf wurde ein Jahr später im chinesischen Guiyang nachgeholt. 2020 wurde das für März in Hongkong geplante Rennen aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie zunächst verschoben und schließlich ganz abgesagt. - O Campeonato Asiático de Corta-Mato (português europeu) ou Campeonato Asiático de Cross Country (português brasileiro) (em inglês: Asian Cross Country Championships) é uma competição Asiática de corta-mato. É organizado pela Associação Asiática de Atletismo e foi realizado pela primeira vez em 1991 em Fukuoka, Japão. A competição foi realizada a cada dois anos desde então, embora a edição de 2003 tenha sido adiada devido a conflitos políticos dentro da região. O campeonato compreende quatro corridas: corridas sénior separadas para homens e mulheres, e duas corridas juniores correspondentes para os sexos. Além disso, em cada uma das quatro corridas, os atletas competem simultaneamente tanto para medalhas individuais quanto para medalhas em equipe. Para as competições em equipe, as posições finais dos melhores corredores finais de cada país são combinadas e a equipe com o menor número total de pontos ganha. (pt)
