- Der Admiralspalast ist ein traditionsreicher Veranstaltungsort in der Friedrichstraße 101/102 im Berliner Ortsteil Mitte des gleichnamigen Bezirks. Er zählt zu den wenigen erhaltenen großen Vergnügungsstätten vom Anfang des 20. - The Admiralspalast (German for admiral palace) is a 1,756-seat theatre on Friedrichstraße in the Mitte district of Berlin, Germany. Opened in 1910, it is one of the few preserved variety venues of the pre-World War II era in the city. As a place of amusement the Admiralspalast originally included a skating rink, a public bath, bowling alleys, a café and a cinema open day and night. After World War I it changed to a revue theatre, starting with the show Drunter und drüber by Walter Kollo, later continued by the performance of operettas. As the building suffered little damage from World War II bombing, it was home to the Berlin State Opera until the reconstruction of the Berlin State Opera house in 1955. On April 21–22 1946, the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the Communist Party of Germany in the Soviet occupation zone held a convention at the Admiralspalast where they merged to become the Socialist Unity Party of Germany. The performance of revues and operettas were continued under the name of until its disestablishment in 1997. The GDR Union of Journalists had its offices inside the Admiralspalast. On August 11, 2006, it reopened with The Threepenny Opera, directed by Klaus Maria Brandauer. (en)

- Het Admiralspalast (Duits voor Admiralenpaleis) is een theaterzaal met 1.756 zitplaatsen in de wijk Mitte in Berlijn, Duitsland. Het gebouw is gelegen aan Friedrichstraße nummer 101. Het theater opende in 1910 en het is een van de weinig bewaard gebleven gebouwen van het pre-Tweede Wereldoorlogtijdperk in de stad. Oorspronkelijk zaten er een ijsbaan, een openbaar zwembad, bowlingbanen, een café en een bioscoop in het Admiralspalast. Na de Eerste Wereldoorlog veranderde het in een revue-theater. Dit begon met de show Drunter und drüber door . Later vervolgde dit met shows van de operettes. Tijdens de leed het gebouw weinig schade, het was de thuisbasis van de Berlijnse staatsopera tot de reconstructie van de Berlijnse staatsopera in 1955. Op 21-22 april 1946 vond een conventie plaats tussen de Sociaal-Democratische Partij van Duitsland en de Communistische Partij van Duitsland waar zij fuseerde tot de Socialistische eenheidspartij van Duitsland. De shows van de revues en de operettes werden tot 1997 voortgezet onder de naam Metropol-Theater. De GDR-Unie van Journalisten had haar kantoren in het theater admiralspalast. Op 11 augustus 2006 heropende het theater met de Driestuiversopera, geregisseerd door Klaus Maria Brandauer. (nl)
