- A Game of Thrones is a strategy board game created by Christian T. Petersen and published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2003. The game is based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series of high fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin. It was followed in 2004 by the expansion A Clash of Kings, and in 2006 by the expansion A Storm of Swords. A Game of Thrones allows players to take on the roles of several of the Great Houses of Westeros vying for control of the Seven Kingdoms, including House Stark, House Lannister, House Baratheon, House Greyjoy, House Tyrell, and as of the expansion A Clash of Kings, House Martell. Players maneuver armies to secure support in the various regions that comprise the Seven Kingdoms, with the goal of capturing enough support to claim the Iron Throne. The basic gameplay mechanics are reminiscent of Diplomacy, especially in the order-giving process, though A Game of Thrones is significantly more complicated overall. Upon its release, the game received positive reviews, and was nominated for several awards. (en)

El juego tiene cuatro expansiones, Choque de Reyes (2004), Tormenta de Espadas (2006), Danza de Dragones y Festín de Cuervos. Juego de Tronos permite a los jugadores elegir entre varias de las Grandes Casas que luchan por el control de los Siete Reinos, incluyendo la Casa Stark, la Casa Lannister, Casa Baratheon, Casa Greyjoy, Casa Tyrell y la expansión Choque de Reyes, Casa Martell. Los jugadores controlan ejércitos para asegurar el apoyo de las distintas regiones que conforman los Siete Reinos con el fin de atraer el apoyo suficiente para reclamar el Trono de Hierro. Une deuxième édition du jeu, intégrant des nouveautés et des éléments des extensions de la première édition, est sortie en 2011 en anglais et en 2012 en français. Pour 3 à 6 joueurs, à partir de 12 ans pour environ 150 minutes. Le jeu se passe sur le continent de Westeros, où se déroule la plus grande partie de l'action des romans de George R. R. Martin. La situation est la même qu'au début de leur histoire : Robert Baratheon, roi des Sept Couronnes, vient de mourir, et les grandes maisons nobles du royaume, chacune contrôlée par un joueur, s'affrontent pour le trône de fer et le titre de nouveau souverain.
