- Die Färöische Fußballmeisterschaft 2020, nach dem Hauptsponsor Betri Banki offiziell Betrideildin, war die 78. Saison der höchsten färöischen Fußballliga. Sie sollte ursprünglich am 8. März 2020 beginnen, aufgrund der COVID-19-Pandemie wurde der Start auf den 9. Mai 2020 verschoben. Dem Saisonstart fiel mehr Aufmerksamkeit als gewöhnlich zu, da die Liga als erste europäische nach der Unterbrechung ihren Spielbetrieb aufnehmen konnte. Dies wurde auch dadurch ermöglicht, dass es auf den Färöern keine aktiven Fälle mehr gab. Dennoch wurde der erste Spieltag ohne Zuschauer ausgetragen. Die Saison endete am 7. November 2020. Meister wurde HB Tórshavn, die den Titel somit zum 24. Mal erringen konnten. Titelverteidiger KÍ Klaksvík landete auf dem dritten Platz. Absteigen mussten hingegen AB Argir nach drei Jahren sowie Skála ÍF nach fünf Jahren Erstklassigkeit. Im Vergleich zur Vorsaison verbesserte sich die Torquote auf 3,45 pro Spiel, was den höchsten Schnitt seit 2015 bedeutete. KÍ were the defending champions, having won their 18th Faroese title in the previous season. The season was scheduled to start on 8 March and later postponed to 15 March, because of the outbreak of coronavirus in the Faroe Islands. The season started on 9 May 2020 and ended on 7 November 2020. This was decided after there had been no reported case of COVID-19 in the Faroe Islands from 6 April to 18 April. There has been no deaths due to COVID-19 in the Faroe Islands as of 8 November 2020. The Norwegian TV2 broadcast matches from the first 12 rounds. Havnar Bóltfelag (HB) won their 24th championship with 69 points. Skála were relegated and AB played against B68 Toftir to decide if AB would be relegated or not. The winner of the match won the right to play in the top league in the 2021 season. The match was played on 29 November 2020. AB lost the match 2-3 (1-1 after 90 minutes) after extra time, and was relegated. B68 won promotion to 2021 Faroe Islands Premier League. - Betrideildin 2020 – 78. edycja najwyższych w hierarchii rozgrywek ligowych piłki nożnej, mająca na celu wyłonienie mistrza Wysp Owczych. W rozgrywkach bierze udział 10 klubów z całego archipelagu. W 2018 roku sponsorem tytularnym rozgrywek został bank . Przyjęto w związku z tym nową nazwę - Betrideildin, która będzie obowiązywać do roku 2022. Spośród dziesięciu klubów biorących udział w Betrideildin 2020 dwa na koniec sezonu zostaną zdegradowane do niższego poziomu rozgrywek - 1.deild. Rozgrywki miały rozpocząć się 8 marca, jednak z uwagi na pandemię COVID-19 ich początek musiał zostać przesunięty. Początkowo pierwsza kolejka miała się odbyć 15 marca, jednak ostatecznie mecze zaczęto rozgrywać 9 maja. Farerska liga ruszyła, jako pierwsza w Europie. Decyzję tę podjęto po tym, gdy na Wyspach Owczych nie stwierdzono żadnego zachorowania między 6 a 18 kwietnia. Pierwsza kolejka odbyła się bez udziału publiczności. Zakończenie sezonu przesunięto z 31 października na 7 listopada. Pierwsze 12 kolejek Betrideilin 2020 było emitowane przez norweską stację telewizyjną TV2. (pl)
