- Die Saison 1974/75 der Oberliga war die erste Saison der Oberliga als dritthöchste Spielklasse im Fußball in Deutschland nach der Einführung der zweigleisigen – später eingleisigen – 2. Fußball-Bundesliga zur Saison 1974/75. Vorerst wurde nur in Norddeutschland und Berlin wieder eine Oberliga, die Oberliga Nord bzw. Oberliga Berlin eingeführt. In den übrigen Regionen Westdeutschlands wurde die mit den heutigen Verbandsligen vergleichbare Amateurliga noch vier Jahre fortgeführt, ehe zur Spielzeit 1978/79 auch dort sechs Amateur-Oberligen eingeführt wurden. Die Oberliga Nord umfasste den Norddeutschen Fußball-Verband mit den Fußballverbänden Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Bremen und Niedersachsen. (de)
- The 1974–75 season of the Oberliga was the inaugural season of the Oberliga as a tier-three league. The Oberligas, then as tier-one leagues, had been disestablished after the 1962–63 season, when the Bundesliga was introduced. The Oberliga was organised in two regional divisions, the Oberliga Nord and the Oberliga Berlin, with the league champions, and the runners-up of the Oberliga Nord, earning the right to play-off for promotion to the level above, the 2. Bundesliga. Parallel to the two Oberligas, Amateurligas and Verbandsligas existed in the other parts of Germany at this level. A similar league, the DDR-Oberliga, existed in East Germany, set at the first tier of the East German football league system. The 1974–75 DDR-Oberliga was won by FC Carl Zeiss Jena. (en)
