- Maredudd ap Gruffydd (Gal·les, 1130 - 1155) fou un rei de Deheubarth. Maredudd va ser el fill gran que Gruffydd ap Rhys tingué amb la seva segona esposa, , per bé que tenia dos germanastres, Anarawd i Cadell. Només tenia sis anys quan els seus pares foren morts. Els annals indiquen que als setze anys ja ajudava el seu germanastre Cadell, en aquell moment príncep de Deheubarth, a expulsar els normands de Ceredigion; en aquell moment defensà el castell de Carmarthen d'un assalt normand, repel·lint les escales dels invassors. En l'any 1151 tingué un paper important en recuperar la part nord de Ceredigion, que estava en mans del Regne de Gwynedd. Aquell mateix any, Cadell, en un dia de cacera, va ser sorprès per una partida normanda de Tenby, que l'atacà i el deixà per mort. Sobrevisqué, però tan malferit que ja no pogué reprendre les seves activitats. La gestió efectiva del reialme passà als seus germans petits Maredudd i Rhys. Dos anys més tard, quan Cadell marxà en pelegrintage a Roma, ja deixà en Maredudd com a príncep de Deheubarth. Maredudd va morir el 1155, deixant el tron de Deheubarth als seu germà petit Rhys, que més endavant seria conegut per Lord Rhys. (ca)
- Maredudd ap Gruffydd (* 1130/1131; † 1155) war ein Fürst von Deheubarth aus der Dinefwr-Dynastie. Er war der älteste Sohn von Gruffydd ap Rhys und dessen Frau Gwenllian, einer Tochter von Gruffydd ap Cynan von Gwynedd. Er war sechs Jahre alt, als sein Vater 1137 starb. Im Alter von 16 Jahren unterstützte er seinen älteren Halbbruder Cadell im Kampf gegen die Anglonormannen im südlichen Ceredigion und bei der Verteidigung der jüngst eroberten Burg von Carmarthen. Im selben Jahr eroberten sie noch Llansteffan Castle. 1151 trieb er eine walisische Streitmacht aus dem benachbarten Gwynedd zurück hinter den , und im selben Jahr übernahm er nach der schweren Verwundung von Cadell die Herrschaft über Deheubarth. Er galt trotz seiner Jugend als geachteter Herrscher und bewunderter Krieger, doch er starb bereits vier Jahre später. Sein Nachfolger war sein jüngerer Bruder Rhys ap Gruffydd. (de)
- Maredudd ap Gruffydd (1131–1155) was a prince of the kingdom of Deheubarth in Southwest Wales. Maredudd was the fifth of six sons of Gruffydd ap Rhys, and the third of four by Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd; he also had two older half-brothers, Anarawd and Cadell, by Gruffydd's first wife. He was only five years old when his mother and brothers Morgan and Maelgwyn were killed at Cydweli. His father died the following year. At the age of 16 he is recorded helping his half-brother Cadell, now King of Deheubarth, to expel the Normans from Ceredigion. He then successfully defended Carmarthen castle against a Norman assault, hurling down the scaling ladders. In 1151 he took a prominent part in winning back the northern part of Ceredigion from Gwynedd. The same year Cadell was attacked by a force of Normans while out hunting and left for dead. He survived, but was so badly injured that the effective rule of Deheubarth fell on Maredudd. In 1153 Cadell left on a pilgrimage to Rome, leaving Maredudd as King of Deheubarth. Maredudd died two years later in 1155, leaving the throne of Deheubarth to his younger brother Rhys, later known as The Lord Rhys. (en)
