- Útok ve vysokorychlostním vlaku Thalys (francouzsky Attentat du train Thalys le 21 août 2015), ke kterému došlo ve francouzském departementu Pas-de-Calais dne 21. srpna 2015 na vlakové trase z Amsterdamu do Paříže, měl na svědomí šestadvacetiletý Ajúb el-Cházání. Při útoku sice nikdo nezemřel, avšak tři cestující byli zraněni, daného kalašnikovem ozbrojeného pachatele ještě ve vlaku úspěšně zneškodnila trojice amerických občanů. Pachatel byl státním složkám již z minulosti dobře známý, byl jimi dokonce po určitou dobu i sledován. Na základě této události natočil americký režisér Clint Eastwood životopisné drama Paříž 15:17. French, American and British passengers confronted the attacker and subdued him when his rifle jammed. For their heroism, they received France's highest decoration, the Legion of Honour. The assailant, later identified as Ayoub El Khazzani, initially claimed to be only a robber, but later confessed that he had wanted to "kill Americans" as revenge for bombings in Syria. (en)

- El atentado al tren Thalys de fecha 21 de agosto de 2015, descrito por la prensa como una tentativa terrorista con armas de fuego, fue abortado por la acción de varias personas presentes en el lugar de los hechos, y tuvo lugar en territorio de la comuna de Oignies (Paso de Calais, Francia), a bordo del tren Thalys n° 9364 que realizaba el servicio Ámsterdam - Paris. En el momento del inicio del ataque, dicho tren se encontraba transitando por la línea férrea conocida como LGV Nord. Ayoub El Khazzani fue quien realizó este ataque, aparentemente actuando solo. El nombrado es de origen marroquí, y casi seguramente en algún momento fue captado por el islamismo radical para su causa. Al iniciar la acción el citado, ello fue percibido por varios pasajeros, quienes actuaron casi de inmediato logrando desbaratar el atentado, aunque el terrorista de todas maneras pudo hacer varios disparos con una de sus armas. El atacante fue detenido, y algo más tarde interrogado. En sus primeras declaraciones sobre los hechos, el imputado aseguró que no intentaba perpetrar un atentado terrorista sino que trataba de concretar un atraco, aunque parece haber evidencia que efectivamente se trató de un intento fallido de perpetrar una verdadera masacre. - L’attentat du train Thalys le 21 août 2015 est une tentative terroriste avortée par armes à feu qui s'est déroulée à bord du train Thalys no 9364 reliant Amsterdam à Paris sur la ligne LGV Nord, alors que celui-ci se trouve aux alentours de la commune d'Oignies, dans le Pas-de-Calais. L'attaque, projetée par Ayoub El Khazzani, un ressortissant marocain proche de l'islamisme radical, est déjouée par des passagers du train dont des militaires américains en vacances, qui immobilisent le terroriste. En 2020, l'agresseur est jugé pour tentatives d'assassinats, association de malfaiteurs et détention d'armes, le tout en relation avec une entreprise terroriste. Le 8 décembre 2022, il est condamné en appel à la réclusion à perpétuité. La même cellule terroriste franco-belge, constituée autour d'Abdelhamid Abaaoud et dirigée depuis Raqqa, prépare, coordonne et commet également les attentats déjoués à Verviers en janvier 2015, les attentats du 13 novembre 2015 en France et les attentats du 22 mars 2016 à Bruxelles. - L'attacco al treno Thalys del 21 agosto 2015 è stato un tentativo fallito di attacco terroristico di matrice islamista avvenuto il 21 agosto 2015 sul treno numero 9364 dell'impresa ferroviaria internazionale Thalys. L'assalto, progettato e messo in atto da Ayoub El Khazzani, venne scongiurato da tre passeggeri del treno. Il successivo 26 agosto l'aggressore è stato accusato di cospirazione e possesso di armi illegali, nell'ambito di un atto terroristico legato all'autoproclamato Stato Islamico. Nel 2018 è stata realizzata una pellicola cinematografica chiamata Ore 15:17 - Attacco al treno, diretta dal regista Clint Eastwood ed ispirata a questi fatti, che ha come interpreti coloro che realmente sventarono il tentativo di attacco.
