Les opinions modernes s'inclinen per un poble celta; en el seu territori hi va haver una ciutat anomenada Corbio, i al costat de Soissons hi ha la ciutat de Corbeil. - Los Suesetanos (en latín, suessetani) fueron un pueblo prerromano establecido en las llanuras centrales de Aragón. Hoy en día algunos les consideran celtas emparentados con los suesiones (de la región de Soissons), aunque algunos creen que pertenecían a los pueblos iberos o celtíberos. En cualquier caso, su nombre parece aludir a la raíz indoeuropea svasti, con el significado de "tener suerte", el mismo significado que se esconde tras la palabra esvástica.

- The Suessetani were a pre-Roman people of the northeast Iberian Peninsula that dwelt mainly in the plains area of the Alba (Arba) river basin (a northern tributary of the Ebro river), in today's Cinco Villas, Aragon, Zaragoza Province (westernmost Aragon region) and Bardenas Reales area (southernmost Navarra region), west of the Gallicus river (today's Gállego river), east of the low course of the Aragon river and north of the Iberus (Ebro) river, in the valley plains of this same river. Their location, in relation to other tribes, was south of the Iacetani (Aquitanian tribe), west of the or (Iberian tribe) north of the Lusones and Pellendones (Celtiberian tribes), also north of the Sedetani (Iberian tribe), and southeast of the Vascones (Aquitanian tribe or people). | - Els suessetans (en llatí Suessetani) eren un poble preromà establert a les planes centrals d'Aragó. Alguns els consideren celtes i emparentats als suessions (de la regió de Soissons) i d'altres ibers o celtibers. El seu probable límit oriental va ser el riu Gallego. Les opinions modernes s'inclinen per un poble celta; en el seu territori hi va haver una ciutat anomenada Corbio, i al costat de Soissons hi ha la ciutat de Corbeil. L'arrel Corb- derivaria del nom gal Corbus. Al començament del segle ii aC eren aliats dels romans però després es van revoltar i el 184 aC la seva ciutat Corbio va ser assetjada, ocupada i destruïda per Aulus Terenci Varró. Ocupaven aproximadament la regió coneguda per Cinco Villas. Després de la seva derrota el seu territori segurament va passar a mans dels vascons, que n'apareixen més tard com posseïdors. (ca)

En su territorio hubo una ciudad denominada (y junto a Soissons está la ciudad de Corbeil). La raíz curvo derivaría del nombre galo Corbus. También se ha defendido la identificación del nombre de Segia, identificándola con Corbio, siendo esta la capital o ciudad más importante de los suesetanos, Corbio. Se cree que a comienzos del siglo II a. C. los suesetanos eran aliados de Roma, pero después se sublevaron y en el año 184 a. C. su capital Corbio fue asediada, ocupada y destruida por los romanos al mando del Gobernador de Hispania Aulo Terencio Varrón. Tras esto, el territorio suesetano fue cedido a los vascones, que más tarde aparecen como sus poseedores. La etnia o tribu suesetana ocupaba la región que hoy básicamente se corresponde con la comarca zaragozana de las Cinco Villas. Su límite oriental más probable fue el río Gállego.
