- Im Königreich Jerusalem gab es sechs wesentliche Ämter: der Konstabler, der Marschall, der Seneschall, der Kämmerer, der Mundschenk und der Kanzler. Die ersten vier bildeten die großen Ämter. Zeitweise gab es noch Baillis, Vizegrafen, und Kastellane. Im Wesentlichen entstammten diese Ämter dem nordfranzösischen Feudalismus des 11. Jahrhunderts, der Heimat des Kreuzritteradels von Outremer. Während sie sich in Frankreich und England zur gleichen Zeit weiterentwickelten, geschah dies nicht im Königreich Jerusalem, wo ihre Entwicklung beinahe zum Stillstand kam. Deshalb unterschieden sich Inhalte und Funktionen der Ämter bald von denen der Herkunftsländer der Kreuzritter, wobei die Ämterstruktur des Kreuzfahrerstaates im Vergleich zu den moderneren europäischen Monarchien archaisch wirkte. - There were six major officers of the kingdom of Jerusalem: the constable, the marshal, the seneschal, the chamberlain (which were known as the "Grand Offices"), the butler and the chancellor. At certain times there were also bailiffs, viscounts and castellans. The lists given below are incomplete, as the specific names and dates of the officers are sometimes unknown. After the fall of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the offices were sometimes awarded as honors by the kings of Cyprus and Jerusalem. (en)
- Il y avait six offices permanents dans le royaume de Jérusalem : connétable, , sénéchal, chambellan, bouteiller et chancelier. Les quatre premiers étaient des Grands Offices. Durant certaines périodes, il y eut aussi des baillis, des vicomtes et des châtelains. - В Иерусалимском королевстве существовало шесть ключевых должностей: коннетабль, маршал, сенешаль, камергер, кравчий и канцлер. Также в разное время существовали должности бальи, виконтов и кастелянов. Эта система высших должностей повторяла систему, существовавшую в XI веке во Французском королевстве — на родине первых иерусалимских монархов. При этом, если во Франции и в Англии система высших чинов продолжала развиваться, в более архаичном Иерусалимском королевстве она оставалась практически неизменной на всем протяжении его истории.
