- Το εθνόσημο των Νήσων Φώκλαντ παραχωρήθηκε στα Φώκλαντ στις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου του 1948. Το πλοίο συμβολίζει το Desire, το σκάφος με το οποίο πιστεύεται ότι ανακάλυψε τα νησιά ο Άγγλος εξερευνητής Τζον Ντέιβις, το 1592. Το ρητό "Desire the Right" (Να επιθυμείς το Δίκαιο) αναφέρεται επίσης στο όνομα του καραβιού. - The coat of arms of the Falkland Islands is the heraldic device consisting of a shield charged with a ram on tussock grass in a blue field at the top and a sailing ship on white and blue wavy lines underneath. Adopted in 1948, it has been the coat of arms of the Falkland Islands since 29 September of that year, except for the two-month occupation of the territory during the Falklands War in 1982. The escutcheon is featured on the flag of the territory. The ram represents the territory's past primary industry of sheep farming, while the ship symbolises the Desire which reportedly first sighted the islands at the end of the 16th century. The grass indicates the vegetation of the Falklands. (en)

- Lo stemma delle Isole Falkland fu adottato dal Regno Unito il 29 settembre 1948. L'Argentina, che rivendica la sovranità sulle isole, ha una propria versione dello stemma. Lo stemma presenta al suo centro il Desire, nome della nave con cui il capitano inglese scoprì le isole nel 1592. In basso si trova un nastro marrone con il motto Desire the right ("desidera il giusto") che giocando con la parola Desire fa anche riferimento al nome della nave. Sulla sommità è presente una pecora che rappresenta l'allevamento di tali animali, molto praticato alle Falkland, e l'erba verde simboleggia la vegetazione autoctona fatta per lo più di arbusti. (it)

- O actual Brasão de armas das Ilhas Malvinas (Falkland) foi adoptado pelo Reino Unido em 29 de Setembro de 1948. O barco simboliza o Desire, navio inglês com o qual foram descobertas essas ilhas. O lema, "Desire the right" (Desejo o direito), também é uma alusão ao nome do navio. A ovelha simboliza a principal atividade econômica das ilhas, que é a criação de gado ovino. - Le blason des îles Malouines fut adopté par le Royaume-Uni le 29 septembre 1948. Le bateau représente le Desire, par lequel est arrivé le capitaine britannique John Davis lors de la découverte des Îles Malouines en 1592. Au centre, on peut voir une brebis (symbolisant l'activité bergère des îles) reposant sur de l'herbe pour représenter la flore de l'archipel.
