Damasithymus (/ˌdæməˈsɪθɪməs/; Greek: Δαμασίθυμος; fl. early 5th century BC) was the king of Calyndos (Greek: Κάλυνδος), a city in ancient Caria. His father was Candaules (Greek: Κανδαύλης). Herodotus, in the seventh and eighth books of his Histories and Polyaenus, in the eighth book of his work 'Stratagems', mention him.

Rinomato condottiero, menzionato nel settimo e nell'ottavo libro delle Storie di Erodoto, si schierò con il re persiano Serse I durante la seconda invasione della Grecia, comandando una propria nave nella flotta persiana nell'unità assegnata ad Artemisia di Caria. Prese parte alla battaglia di Capo Artemisio e a quella di Salamina, nella quale perì per mano della stessa Artemisia, intenzionata a fuggire dalla battaglia dopo la sconfitta persiana. Πολέμησε στη ναυμαχία του Αρτεμισίου και στη ναυμαχία της Σαλαμίνας το 480 π.Χ, στην οποία σκοτώθηκε. Ήταν διοικητής του μοναδικού πλοίου των Καλυνδέων. (en) Damasithymos (altgriechisch Δαμασίθυμος Damasíthymos), Sohn des Kandaules, war ein König des im Grenzgebiet zwischen Lykien und Karien gelegenen Kalynda. Damasithymos nahm auf Seiten der Perser am Kriegszug des Xerxes gegen die Griechen teil und befehligte als Taxiarchos neben Histiaios, Sohn des Tymnes, einen Teil des karischen Flottenaufgebots. In der Seeschlacht von Salamis 480 v. Chr. wurde er Opfer einer Kriegslist der Herrscherin von Halikarnassos, Artemisia I. Als deren Schiff von einem athenischen angegriffen und eingeholt wurde, rammte sie vorsätzlich das von Damasithymos befehligte und mit ihr verbündete Schiff, das daraufhin sank. Laut Herodot entschied daher der Befehlshaber des attischen Schiffes, dass es sich bei der Besatzung auf dem Schiff der Artemisia entweder um Griechen (de)
