- Jeremiah „Jerry“ Cronin (irisch Diarmaid Ó Cróinín, * 15. September 1925 in , Fermoy, County Cork; † 19. Oktober 1990) war ein irischer Politiker und saß von 1965 bis 1981 im Dáil Éireann, dem Unterhaus des irischen Parlaments. Cronin wurde bei den Wahlen 1965 im Wahlkreis Cork North-East für die Fianna Fáil in den 18. Dáil Éireann gewählt. In den Jahren 1969, 1973 sowie 1977 wurde er jeweils wiedergewählt. Während des 19. Dáil war er von 1969 bis zum 9. Mai 1970 parlamentarischer Sekretär des Ministers für Landwirtschaft und Fischerei und hatte dann schließlich selbst vom 9. Mai 1970 bis zum 14. März 1973 als Verteidigungsminister einen Ministerposten inne. Bei den Wahlen zum 22. Dáil im Jahr 1981 trat Cronin nicht mehr an. Von 1979 bis 1984 war er Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments. (de)
- Jeremiah Cronin (15 September 1925 – 19 October 1990) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1965 general election as a Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork North-East constituency. He was appointed to the Irish Government on one occasion, serving as Minister for Defence from 1970 to 1973 under Taoiseach Jack Lynch. Cronin retired from domestic politics at the 1981 general election, having been elected to the European Parliament for a five-year term in 1979. He was born in Currabeha, Fermoy, County Cork, the son of Alice (née Mulcahy) and Sean Cronin. His uncle, Arthur Mulcahy, was a member of the Old IRA, and was shot by British forces during the Irish War of Independence on 22 March 1921. Jerry Cronin died on 19 October 1990, having suffered with Parkinson's disease. He was married to Shelia Cronin (née Sheehan); they lived in Mallow, County Cork, and had six children. (en)
