- Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a tactical role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. It is the fifteenth installment in the Fire Emblem series and a remake of the 1992 Famicom game Fire Emblem Gaiden, the second entry in the series. It follows dual protagonists Alm and Celica as they aim to bring an end to the war through opposite methods, with Alm fighting to resolve the war through battle, while Celica attempts to find a peaceful end through guidance from the Goddess Mila. Fire Emblem Echoes carries over the core gameplay mechanics of the Fire Emblem series while incorporating mechanics from Gaiden like dungeon crawling. Development of Fire Emblem Echoes began in 2015 following the completion of Fire Emblem Fates. Intended as the culmination of the Fire Emblem series on the 3DS platform, several staff members from both Fates and Fire Emblem Awakening were involved. The game carried over the unconventional mechanics of Gaiden while expanding and rebuilding the story and gameplay based on recent Fire Emblem games and the team's wishes for added role-playing elements. While Gaiden remains exclusive to Japan, Fire Emblem Echoes was localized by 8-4. The game released to strong sales worldwide and receiving generally positive reviews from critics. (en)

Il s'agit du quinzième opus de la saga Fire Emblem, ainsi que le dernier jeu de cette série à être sorti sur Nintendo 3DS. Il est sorti le 20 avril 2017 au Japon, le 19 mai 2017 en Amérique du Nord et en Europe et le 20 mai 2017 en Australie. Le jeu suit le parcours de deux amis d'enfance, Alm et Celica, entraînés malgré eux dans une guerre opposant les royaumes voisins de Rigel et Zofia, tous deux appartenant au continent de Valentia. Alm s'oppose à l'invasion de Zofia par Rigel en prenant les armes, tandis que Celica cherche à retrouver Mila, la déesse protectrice disparue de Zofia. Révélé lors du Fire Emblem Direct du 18 janvier 2017, il est une reprise du jeu Fire Emblem Gaiden publié sur Famicom au Japon le 14 mars 1992. Ainsi, il reprend les mécaniques du jeu d'origine, inclut certaines mécaniques de jeu apparues dans des opus postérieurs à Gaiden, tout en ajoutant de nouvelles fonctionnalités, comme les donjons. Là où Gaiden est un jeu exclusif au Japon, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia est disponible partout dans le monde.
