- Als Jocs Olímpics d'Hivern de 2006 celebrats a la ciutat de Torí (Itàlia) es disputà una prova de biatló femenina sobre una distància de 10 quilòmetres en format de persecució que, unida a la resta de proves, configurà el programa oficial dels Jocs. Els biatletes havien de fer cinc voltes en un circuit de 2 quilòmetres disparant vint vegades, deu drets i deu més estirats. Cada error en els tirs comportà una penalització de 150 metres d'esquí de fons. La prova es realitzà el dia 18 de febrer de 2006 a les instal·lacions esportives de . Participaren un total de 60 biatletes de 22 comitès nacionals diferents. (ca)
- The Women's 10 kilometre biathlon pursuit competition at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy was held on 18 February, at Cesana San Sicario. Competitors in this biathlon raced over five loops of a 2.0 kilometre skiing course, shooting twenty times, ten prone and ten standing. Each miss required a competitor to ski a 150-metre penalty loop. The starting order for the pursuit was based on the results of the sprint; the top 60 finishers in that race qualified for the pursuit. In addition, each racer's final deficit behind sprint winner Florence Baverel-Robert corresponded to their starting deficit in the pursuit; Anna Carin Olofsson, who finished 2 seconds behind Fischer in the sprint, started 2 seconds after her in the pursuit. The winner was the first racer over the finish line, Kati Wilhelm. Skiers who were lapped were not ranked in the official results. At the 2005 World Championships, Germany's Uschi Disl successfully defended her four-second lead after the sprint event to win the pursuit, while Russian Olga Pyleva won the event at the 2002 Olympics. Kati Wilhelm led the pursuit World Cup standings before the Olympics, ahead of Sandrine Bailly of France and Disl. (en)

Olympiasiegerin wurde Kati Wilhelm vor Martina Glagow, beide aus Deutschland. Die Bronzemedaille ging an die Russin Albina Achatowa. (de)
- De 10 kilometer achtervolging vrouwen tijdens de Olympische Winterspelen 2006 vond plaats op zaterdag 18 februari 2006. De 60 beste biatletes van de sprint plaatsten zich voor dit onderdeel. Ze namen het tijdsverschil op dat onderdeel mee als achterstand op de achtervolging. Vooraf was de Duitse Kati Wilhelm de grootte favoriet, ze stond eerste in de wereldbeker en had al tweemaal goud gewonnen op de vorige spelen. Ze moest echter wel met 18 achterstand beginnen aan de achtervolging nadat ze zevende was geworden op de 7,5 km sprint. De winnares van dit onderdeel, de Française Florence Baverel-Robert mocht als eerste van start. Door gelijk foutloos te beginnen bij de eerste keer schieten nam Wilhelm echter al meteen een ruime voorsprong die ze niet meer af zou staan. Op de finish had ze uiteindelijk een voorsprong van ruim een minuut op haar landgenote Martina Glagow. Glagow was op de laatste kilometers nog de Russin Albina Achatova voorbij gegaan. Achatova moest uiteindelijk genoegen nemen met haar tweede bronzen medaille. De eerste had ze op de sprint gewonnen nadat haar landgenoot Olga Pyleva uit de uitslag was verwijderd wegens doping gebruik. (nl)
- Bieg pościgowy kobiet podczas Zimowych Igrzysk Olimpijskich 2006 odbył się 18 lutego w Cesana San Sicario. Była to przedostatnia konkurencja kobiet podczas igrzysk. Do biegu zgłoszonych zostało sześćdziesiąt najlepszych zawodniczek biegu sprinterskiego. Złoty medal zdobyła reprezentantka Niemiec, Kati Wilhelm, która spudłowała tylko raz – podczas trzeciego pobytu na strzelnicy. Srebrny medal wywalczyła inna Niemka – Martina Glagow, która musiała przebiec dwie karne rundy czyli dodatkowe 300 metrów. Na najniższym stopniu podium stanęła reprezentantka Rosji, Albina Achatowa.
