野帳（やちょう、field books）とは、野外での記入を想定した、縦長で硬い表紙のついた手帳（ノート）のこと。雨天に備えて防水加工が施された表紙、ビニールカバーの付いたものなどもある。和製英語でフィールドノートともいう。 土木・林業業務、様々な研究、あるいは趣味目的で、野外で調査を行う際に、観察・測量・測定した結果を記録する目的で使用される（例：地質調査、野鳥観察など）。目的の用途に合わせて縦横の罫線が引かれていたり無地だったりする。 野外調査の記録（をまとめたもの）をフィールドノートということもある（英語で「field notes」という場合はこちらの意味である）。 Terénní poznámky (field notes) jsou hlavním prostředkem záznamu při zúčastněných pozorováních (tj. při práci v terénu) nejčastěji v etnografii, antropologii a sociologii. Kvalita výzkumné akce je přímo závislá na kvalitě těchto poznámek. Je tedy nutné, aby poznámky byly ucelené a smysluplně organizované. Obsahem terénních poznámek je pak to, co výzkumník při pozorování slyšel, viděl a prožil, ale také to, jak tyto pozorované události vnímal a hodnotil. Primárním cílem je při shromažďování dat zachytit klíčový rámec pozorovaného. Les notes de camp es refereixen a diverses notes gravades per científics, durant o després de la seva observació d'un fenomen específic que estan estudiant. Les notes de camp són especialment valorades en ciències descriptives com ara l'etnografia, la biologia, la geologia i l'arqueologia, cadascuna de les quals té una llarga tradició en aquest camp. Emerson (1995) defineix les notes de camp en l'etnografia (un terme que es refereix en general a l'escriptura descriptiva en antropologia, i també per al subcamp de la sociologia) com notes que descriuen experiències i observacions que l'investigador ha fet durant la seva participació d'una manera intensa i involucrada.
