- Světová federace nezávislých skautů (anglicky World Federation of Independent Scouts, WFIS) byla založena roku 1996 v Německu. Jedná se o alternativní mezinárodní federaci skautských organizací k dominatní Světové organizaci skautského hnutí (WOSM); na rozdíl od WOSM, která přijímá jen jednu skautskou organizaci z dané země, WFIS přijímá libovolné skautské organizace nespojené s jinou mezinárodní organizací, a sdružuje tak především alternativní národní skautské organizace. V Česku jsou členy Skaut – český skauting ABS (od roku 2009) a Svaz skautů a skautek České republiky (od roku 2012). WFIS se hlásí k původním hodnotám a tradicím zakladatele skautingu Roberta Baden-Powella; od svých organizací vyžaduje, aby používaly jeho původní program, kroje, myšlenkové základy a organizační strukturu tak, jak jsou uvedeny ve Scouting for Boys, s výjimkou úprav pro potřeby zdraví, ochrany přírody a bezpečnosti. V roce 2012 sdružovala federace celkem přibližně 1 milion členů. V roce 2020 šlo o přibližně 6,5 milionu členů ve více než 60 zemích. - La Federació Mundial de Scouts Independents (WFIS) és l'organització internacional no governamental que regula 53 Organitzacions escoltes de 32 països, a més d'una federació paraigües, amb un nombre estimat de 30.000 membres. WFIS es va formar a , Alemanya, el 1996 per , un escolta britànic i es va fusionar amb els independents de (BPSA). La Federació Mundial de Scouts Independents està oberta a qualsevol forma d'associació Scouts que no estigui afiliada a una altra organització internacional. WFIS requereix que les associacions membres "segueixin i facin servir el programa original de Baden-Powell, les tradicions, els uniformes, la moral, l'ètica, i l'estructura tal com s'estableix en el Moviment Scout Baden-Powell per als nois, modificades únicament per raons de "salut, medi ambient, primers auxilis, i seguretat". Ziel ist es, ein weltweiter Dachverband für Pfadfinder zu sein, die nicht Mitglied einer anderen Pfadfinderweltorganisation sind, auf Lagern, Leitertrainings und Jamborees Kontakte zwischen Pfadfindern herzustellen und zu ihrer Pflege beizutragen. In dem Verband sind nach eigenen Angaben Pfadfinderverbände aus etwa 65 Ländern mit etwa 7 Millionen Mitgliedern organisiert.
