- Der Wollemi-Nationalpark ist ein Nationalpark in der Region der Blue Mountains an der Westseite der Great Dividing Range im australischen Bundesstaat New South Wales und ist Teil des UNESCO-Welterbe Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Rund 40 % des Nationalparks sind Wilderness Area, das heißt, sie werden so geschützt und verwaltet, dass ihr natürlicher Zustand erhalten bleibt. Im Jahre 1994 wurde hier eine bislang unbekannte Art der Araukariengewächse entdeckt und Wollemie benannt. Diese Bäume wuchsen bereits vor 200 Mio. Jahren und galten als ausgestorben. Der Name stammt von den Aborigines und bedeutet aufmerksam sein (im Sinne von Augen aufhalten). Im Park gibt es eine Reihe von Felsenmalereien der Aborigines. Als die Buschbrände in Australien 2019/2020 sich auch im Nationalpark entwickelten, gelang es Feuerwehrmännern, die sich von Helikoptern in eine Schlucht abseilten, in der die Wollemie gedeihen, mit gezielten Maßnahmen die etwas weniger als 200 Wollemie-Bäume vor den Feuern zu schützen. Im Park gibt es den sogenannten „Glühwürmchen-Tunnel“, einen alten stillgelegten Eisenbahntunnel, in dem sich aufgrund seiner Feuchte und Dunkelheit diese Insekten stark vermehren und für eine bemerkenswerte Illumination sorgen. In diesem Park kann gewandert oder mit dem Kanu gefahren werden. Es gibt drei Campingplätze in Newnes, in Wheeny Creek und in Dunns Swamp, die mit dem Auto erreicht werden können. - Le Parc national Wollemi en Australie est le deuxième plus grand parc naturel de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud. Il abrite une des plus vastes zones naturelles du pays et fait partie de la Greater Blue Mountains Area classée au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. Situé à 129 km au nord-ouest de Sydney, il est le seul endroit où l'on trouve le pin de Wollemi (Wollemia nobilis), espèce découverte en 1995. Les forêts ouvertes d'eucalyptus couvrent 90 % du parc, avec plus de 70 espèces d'eucalyptus recensées. Les 10 % restants du parc se composent de forêts humides et tempérées et autres espaces boisés. La variété des habitats dans le parc permet d'y trouver une grande diversité d'animaux. On y rencontre cinquante-huit espèces de reptiles, trente-huit espèces d'amphibiens, deux cent trente-cinq espèces d'oiseaux et quarante-six espèces de mammifères. À côté du pin de Wollemi, le parc contient les populations des rares Banksia conferta subsp. penicillata, seulement décrit en 1981. Il existe de nombreux sites aborigènes dans le parc avec des peintures et des gravures rupestres. En 2003, la découverte de la grotte de l'"Eagle's Reach" a été annoncée publiquement. Ce site a été trouvé par des randonneurs en 1995 mais était resté inconnu de l'ensemble de la communauté jusqu'à ce qu'une équipe de l'Australian Museum atteigne la grotte en mai 2003. L'âge des peintures de la petite grotte est estimé à près de 4 000 ans et il se compose de jusqu'à une douzaine de couches d'images représentant une grande variété de dessins à l'ocre et au charbon de bois. L'équipe qui a étudié ce site a compté plus de 200 images différentes, principalement des animaux surtout des oiseaux, mais également des mains faites au pochoir, des haches et un boomerang. - The Wollemi National Park (/ˈwɒləmaɪ/) is a protected national park and wilderness area that is located in the northern Blue Mountains and Lower Hunter regions of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 501,703-hectare (1,239,740-acre) park, the second largest national park in New South Wales, contains the 361,113-hectare (892,330-acre) Wollemi Wilderness – the largest such wilderness area in Australia – and is situated approximately 130 kilometres (81 mi) northwest of Sydney. The Wollemi National Park is one of the eight protected areas that, in 2000, was inscribed to form part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Greater Blue Mountains Area. The Wollemi National Park is the most north–westerly of the eight protected areas within the World Heritage Site. The national park forms part of the Great Dividing Range. The only known living wild specimens of the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia nobilis) were discovered in 1994. Special efforts were made to protect the trees when the 2019-20 Australian bushfires burned through the park. The national park is bounded to the north by the Goulburn River National Park and the Bylong Valley Way; to the east by the Yengo National Park, the Parr State Conservation Area, and the Putty Road; to the south by the Blue Mountains National Park and the Bells Line of Road; to the south–west by the Wolgan Valley and the Gardens of Stone National Park; and to the west by open farmland that surround the towns of Rylstone and Kandos and the Capertee Valley.
