William II, Duke of Jülich (c.  1327 – 13 December 1393) was the second Duke of Jülich and the sixth William in the House of Jülich. He was the second son of William I of Jülich and Joanna of Hainaut. William was co-ruler from 1343. He quarreled greatly with his father and imprisoned him from 1349-1351. He tried for many years in Holland-Zeeland to enforce claims against the House of Wittelsbach but failed. When his father died in 1361, William became the second Duke of Jülich, his elder brother Gerhard having predeceased their father. He led the traditional feuds of the House of Jülich and lost Kaiserswerth and Zülpich, among others. William intervened in favor of Edward in the catastrophic war of succession between his brothers-in-law Reinald and Edward for control of the Duchy of Guelde

Er unterwarf sich 1372 der Gnade Kaiser Karls IV. und sicherte seinen Söhnen die Erbschaft für das Herzogtum Geldern. Er war mit Maria von Geldern, Tochter des Herzogs Rainald II., verheiratet. Fervent soutien d'Edouard de Gueldre dans le conflit qui l'opposa à son frère aîné Renaud II et notamment dans la querelle du Brabant, il prit part à la bataille de Baesweiler en 1371, au cours de laquelle il captura le duc Venceslas Ier de Luxembourg, tandis qu'Edouard était mortellement blessé. La même année, à la mort de son beau-frère Renaud III, duc de Gueldre, sa femme, Marie, en revendiqua la succession à la tête du duché de Gueldre, en compétition avec sa sœur Mathilde officiellement désignée héritière. Au bout de huit ans, Marie remporta la Guerre de succession de Gueldre et, l'année suivante, donna le duché à Guillaume, son fils aîné. Guillaume VI s'était soumis à l'empereur Charles IV en 1372 et en 1377, de dernier avait reconnu officiellement les droits de ses descendants sur le duché de Gueldre, même si, formellement, la victoire ne leur revint définitivement qu'en 1379.
