Ciò che genera il diverbio è la replica di Noel, il quale sostiene che "il rock 'n' roll riguarda la musica, non ha niente a che vedere con il farsi arrestare su un traghetto". Si prosegue con uno scambio di battute molto acceso e pieno di imprecazioni. Il tenore della seconda parte, la Liam's Track, è il medesimo, ma il fulcro della discussione sono le gerarchie e i ruoli all'interno della band e l'uso di droghe. È interessante notare come alla domanda finale di John Harris "Avete qualche sogno ricorrente?" (Do you have any recurrent dreams?) Liam risponda "Sì. Quando prenderò il controllo della band" (Yeah, when I take over the band), un'affermazione quasi profetica su ciò che in seguito sarà la fine degli Oasis e la genesi dei Beady Eye. Wibbling Rivalry dura 14 minuti e 32 secondi e detiene un primato: è l'intervista pubblicata come singolo che ha raggiunto la posizione più alta nelle classifiche. - "Wibbling Rivalry" is a single released under the name "Oas*s" by the Fierce Panda record label in 1995. It is a recording of John Harris (working for NME at the time) interviewing brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher of Oasis in early 1994, on the verge of their commercial breakthrough. The interview is famous for featuring a violent argument between the brothers over an incident that occurred a few months prior in which Liam incited a drunken brawl onboard an overnight ferry to the Netherlands, which resulted in the entire band (apart from Noel, who was not involved) being arrested and deported. The title is a play on the expression sibling rivalry with the word wibble, and was chosen by Fierce Panda co-founder and former NME journalist Simon Williams, whose choice of title puns featured on other releases on the label. The single contains a 'Liam Track' featuring predominantly Liam's use of profanities and a 'Noel Track' featuring Noel. "Wibbling Rivalry" holds the record as the highest charting interview release in the UK Singles Chart, reaching number 52 on 25 November 1995.
