- Vincenzo De Luca (Ruvo del Monte, 8 maggio 1949) è un politico italiano, presidente della Regione Campania dal 18 giugno 2015. Aderisce in gioventù al PCI, di cui in seguito diventa segretario provinciale a Salerno. Confluito nel PDS, da segretario provinciale esordisce nel 1990 al consiglio comunale salernitano con il ruolo di vicesindaco e assessore nella giunta di Vincenzo Giordano. A seguito delle dimissioni del sindaco, dopo aver traghettato l'amministrazione municipale alle successive elezioni, De Luca è eletto sindaco nel 1993 e, al termine del mandato quadriennale, riconfermato nel 1997 per altri cinque anni. È rieletto sindaco nel 2006 e, nel 2010, candidato del centrosinistra a presidente della regione Campania (perdendo contro Stefano Caldoro). Nel 2011 è riconfermato sindaco per il successivo quinquennio, terminando l'esperienza amministrativa nel 2015. Amministratore locale per più di 17 anni, è diventato uno dei sindaci più longevi in Italia. Come esponente prima dei DS e successivamente del PD, è deputato nella XIV e nella XV legislatura. È stato inoltre vice ministro al Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti nel Governo Letta. De Luca è stato spesso descritto come un politico populista ed è diventato noto per le sue dichiarazioni controverse. È soprannominato Lo Sceriffo, per il suo stile di governo ed il suo modo di esprimersi schietto e impetuoso, ma anche Don Vicienzo. (it)
