- VicRoads oder auch Roads Corporation of Victoria ist die Straßen- und Verkehrsbehörde des australischen Bundesstaats Victoria. Sie ist eine Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts und verantwortlich für die Instandhaltung und den Ausbau des landesweiten Straßennetzes, ebenso für die Führerscheinvergabe und die Fahrzeugzulassung. VicRoads ist des Weiteren zuständig für die Sicherheit der Straßen und die Regulierung der Abschleppunternehmen in Victoria. VicRoads verwaltet insgesamt 22.000 km Straßen, 3.300 Brücken, sowie für 3,7 Millionen Führerscheine und 4,9 Millionen Fahrzeuge. Das Hauptverwaltungsgebäude befindet sich in Kew, einem Stadtteil von Melbourne, weitere Büros finden sich in , Sunshine und . - VicRoads, or the Roads Corporation of Victoria, is a statutory corporation in the state of Victoria, Australia. In the state, it is responsible for driver licensing and vehicle registration, and regulating the accident towing industry in Victoria. It is part of the Department of Transport. Before July 2019, it was the road and traffic authority in Victoria, responsible also for maintenance and construction of the arterial road network, and road safety policy and research. These functions were transferred or delegated to the Department of Transport on 1 July 2019. The main VicRoads administration is located in the Melbourne suburb of Kew, on the site of the former Kew railway station, with other metropolitan offices in the Melbourne CBD, Burwood and Sunshine. Regional offices and Project offices are located in Geelong, Traralgon, Benalla and Bendigo. There is also regional offices in Ballarat, which is now home to the VicRoads call centre. In addition VicRoads operates many offices servicing the public in registration and licensing throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. (en)
