- La Resolució 1292 del Consell de Seguretat de les Nacions Unides, adoptada per unanimitat el 29 de febrer de 2000 després de reafirmar totes les resolucions anteriors del Sàhara Occidental, en particular la resolució 1198 (1997) el Consell va ampliar el mandat de la Missió de Nacions Unides pel Referèndum al Sàhara Occidental (MINURSO) fins al 31 de maig de 2000. El Consell va recordar les disposicions de la de 1994 i va acollir amb satisfacció els esforços per informar al personal de les Nacions Unides pel que fa a la prevenció i el control del VIH/SIDA i altres malalties en les seves operacions de manteniment de la pau. Va reiterar el seu suport als esforços per implementar el i els acords adoptats per Marroc i el Front Polisario per celebrar un referèndum lliure i just d'autodeterminació per al poble del Sàhara Occidental. Al mateix temps, el Consell es va preocupar per una implementació senzilla del Pla de Regularització, malgrat els acords i el suport de la comunitat internacional. La resolució va ampliar el mandat de la MINURSO i va donar suport a formes de garantir una resolució matinera i duradora de la disputa. Finalment, el Secretari General Kofi Annan va ser convidat a presentar una avaluació de la situació abans que el present mandat acabi el 31 de maig de 2000. (ca)
- قرار مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة رقم 1292، المتخذ بالإجماع في 29 شباط / فبراير 2000، بعد الإشارة إلى جميع القرارات السابقة بشأن مسألة الصحراء الغربية، ولا سيما القرار 1108 (1997)، مدد المجلس ولاية بعثة الأمم المتحدة للاستفتاء في الصحراء الغربية حتى 31 مايو 2000. وأشار المجلس إلى أحكام اتفاقية عام 1994 بشأن سلامة موظفي الأمم المتحدة والأفراد المرتبطين بها ورحب بالجهود المبذولة لإعلام موظفي الأمم المتحدة فيما يتعلق بالوقاية من فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية / الإيدز والأمراض الأخرى ومكافحتها في عمليات حفظ السلام. وجدد دعمه للجهود المبذولة لتنفيذ خطة التسوية والاتفاقيات التي اعتمدها المغرب وجبهة البوليساريو لإجراء استفتاء حر ونزيه لتقرير مصير شعب الصحراء الغربية. وفي الوقت نفسه، أعرب المجلس عن قلقه بشأن التنفيذ السلس لخطة التسوية، على الرغم من الاتفاقات ودعم المجتمع الدولي . مدد القرار ولاية البعثة ودعم السبل لضمان التوصل إلى حل مبكر ودائم للنزاع. وأخيرا ، طُلب من الأمين العام كوفي عنان تقديم تقييم للوضع قبل انتهاء الولاية الحالية في 31 أيار / مايو 2000. - United Nations Security Council resolution 1292, adopted unanimously on 29 February 2000, after recalling all previous resolutions on the question of the Western Sahara, in particular resolution 1108 (1997), the Council extended the mandate of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) until 31 May 2000. The council recalled the provisions of the 1994 Convention on the Safety of United Nations and Associated Personnel and welcomed efforts to inform United Nations personnel with regards to the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS and other diseases in its peacekeeping operations. It reiterated its support for efforts to implement the Settlement Plan and agreements adopted by Morocco and the Polisario Front to hold a free and fair referendum on self-determination for the people of Western Sahara. At the same time, the council was concerned about a smooth implementation of the Settlement Plan, despite agreements and support of the international community. The resolution extended MINURSO's mandate and supported ways to ensure an early and durable resolution of the dispute. Finally, the Secretary-General Kofi Annan was asked to provide an assessment of the situation before the present mandate ended on 31 May 2000. (en)
