- Le Golden Hurricane de Tulsa (en anglais : Tulsa Golden Hurricane) est un club omnisports universitaire de l'Université de Tulsa à Tulsa (Oklahoma). Les équipes du Golden Hurricane participent aux compétitions universitaires organisées par la National Collegiate Athletic Association. Tulsa fait partie de l'American Athletic Conference. Les sportifs de l'Université de Tulsa furent nommés Kendallites, Presbyterians, Tigers et Tulsans avant d'adopter le surnom de Yellow Jackets en 1922, vite transformé en Golden Tornadoes puis Golden Hurricane. L'équipe de football américain de Tulsa est actuellement entrainée par Steve Kragthorpe. Sous sa direction, le Golden Hurricane a joué deux bowls en trois saisons. Parmi les anciens joueurs de Tulsa passés pro en NFL, citons Steve Largent, membre du Pro Football Hall of Fame. En 2006, l'équipe féminine de basket-ball du Golden Hurricane s'est qualifiée pour la première fois au tournoi national NCAA. (fr)

- The Golden Hurricane are the athletic teams that represent the University of Tulsa. These teams are referred to as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (or variously as TU or Tulsa). Before adopting the name Golden Hurricane in 1922, the University of Tulsa (TU) had many unofficial team nicknames including Kendallites (from TU's predecessor institution Henry Kendall College), Presbyterians (from the university's founding by the Presbyterian Church), Tulsans, Tigers, Orange and Black, and Yellow Jackets. The name "Golden Tornadoes" was chosen by TU football coach H.M. Archer (1922–24) based on new gold and black uniforms (rather than the previous orange and black) and a remark made during practice of the team "roaring through opponents" (during a season when TU went undefeated, including wins over Texas A&M and the University of Arkansas). However, it was quickly discovered that the same name had been chosen in 1917 by Georgia Tech. Archer then substituted the term "hurricane" for "tornado" and a team vote prior to leaving for the game against Texas A&M confirmed the official nickname as "Golden Hurricane". (en)
