- Tulga (Flavius Tulga Rex, s. VII–17 d'abril de 642) va ser rei dels visigots de Toledo del 640 al 642. Successor del seu pare, Khíntila, el seu regnat va ser breu, de poc més de dos anys. Va ser destronat a causa d'una rebel·lió encapçalada per Khindasvint. (ca)

Vlády ve vizigótské říši se ujal v roce 640 ještě nezletilý, protože jeho otec Chintila zemřel v prosinci roku 640 i když některé prameny uvádějí, že vládl již od roku 639. Byl prvním vizigótským králem, který byl korunován ne pouhým rozhodnutím panovníka, ale aktem volby duchovenstva. Tak byla vůle panovníka dostatečně prosazena a zároveň princip voleb formálně vykonán. V roce 642 vizigótský válečník Chindaswinth ve věku 79 roků zahájil povstání, proti nezletilému králi. Viděl slabost koruny a znal konvenci vizigótské šlechty v Pampalice (pravděpodobně dnešní Pampliega v provincii Burgos) a tak povstání zakončil tím, že se prohlásil za krále bez podpory kléru. Podle byl sesazený Tulga donucen přijmout tonsuru a pak ho Chindaswinth poslal do kláštera, kde se stal mnichem, protože mniši byli považováni za nezpůsobilé pro kralování. Nicméně, arcibiskup Ildefons z Toleda napsal, že Chindaswinthovo povstání ztroskotalo a bez podpory církve mohl Chindaswinth uspět jen zavražděním Tulgy. Z dnešního pohledu, najít pravdu v tak vzdálené minulosti, je téměř nemožné. Tulga byl ženatý a měl dva syny. Giscilu a Ariberga. Ariberga měl syna , který se v roce 687 stal vizigótským králem. (cs)

Er war der erste Westgotenkönig, der zu Lebzeiten seines Vaters nicht durch einen bloßen Beschluss des Herrschers, sondern durch einen Wahlakt zum Mitregenten erhoben wurde. So wurde der Wille des Herrschers vollstreckt, aber zugleich dem Wahlprinzip formell Genüge getan. Tulga wurde 642 durch eine Rebellion von Adligen gestürzt. Die Königswürde übernahm Chindaswinth. Tulga wurde in ein Kloster gesteckt und damit als Mönch regierungsunfähig gemacht; sein weiteres Schicksal ist unbekannt. Damit scheiterte Chintilas Versuch, eine Dynastie zu etablieren. (de)

Il est cependant très probable qu'aucune rébellion importante n'a eu lieu avant celle de Chindaswinthe, puisque la facilité de sa chute rend peu probable qu'il aurait pu résister à une autre rébellion qui l'aurait précédée. Selon un chroniqueur franc du VIIe siècle, sous le règne du roi-enfant, « toute l’Espagne, selon sa coutume, se livra aux vices et commit différents crimes. » (fr)

Prawdopodobnie nie umiał narzucić swego zdania gockim możnym, wskutek czego został obalony. Wystrzyżono mu tonsurę, przez co nigdy już nie mógł się ubiegać o jakikolwiek świecki urząd. (pl)
