- The Storm Warriors (風雲 II, Fung wan II) est un film fantastique hongkongais co-écrit, co-produit et réalisé par les frères Pang et sorti en 2009. Suite de The Storm Riders (1998), il est basé sur le manhua (en) de (en), plus précisément sur l'arc narratif de l'invasion japonaise appelée The Death Battle. Ekin Cheng et Aaron Kwok reprennent leurs rôles respectifs de Vent et Nuage et sont cette fois confrontés au Seigneur Sans Dieu (Simon Yam), un impitoyable chef de guerre japonais déterminé à envahir la Chine. Cette suite est annoncée pour la première fois en mars 2008 après que Universe ait obtenu les droits de la franchise Fung Wan de l'ancien distributeur de films Golden Harvest. Les frères Pang visaient à créer un film à gros budget avec des effets visuels et ont déclaré que The Storm Warriors ne serait pas une suite directe de son prédécesseur de 1998. - The Storm Warriors is a 2009 Hong Kong wuxia fantasy film produced and directed by the Pang brothers. It is the second live-action film adaptation of artist Ma Wing-shing's manhua series Fung Wan, following the 1998 film The Storm Riders. The Storm Warriors is based on Fung Wan's Japanese Invasion story arc The Death Battle. Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok respectively reprise their roles as Wind and Cloud, who this time find themselves up against Lord Godless (Simon Yam), a ruthless Japanese warlord bent on invading China. The film is a co-production between Universe Entertainment and Sil-Metropole Organisation. A sequel to The Storm Riders was first announced in March 2008 after Universe gained rights to the Fung Wan franchise from former film distributor Golden Harvest. The Pangs aimed on creating a big-budgeted film involving visual effects and stated that The Storm Warriors would not be a direct sequel to its 1998 predecessor. Principal photography for The Storm Warriors began in April 2008 and ended in July; filming took place in three studios located in Bangkok, Thailand. The film is notable for being the first Chinese language film shot in bluescreen. During post-production, effects artists worked on scenes involving computer-generated imagery, focusing on the film's setting and backgrounds. The Storm Warriors was released theatrically in Hong Kong on 10 December 2009. (en)
