- The Main Point was a small coffeehouse venue in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, that operated from 1964 to 1981. The venue hosted concerts by some of the top names in folk and traditional music, blues, rock, country music, and other musical genres, as well as comedy and poetry. The club, located on Lancaster Avenue, was known for its small intimate atmosphere and low ticket prices. Among the many musical artists who appeared at the venue were Phil Ochs, Livingston Taylor, Kate Taylor, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, David Bromberg, John Prine, Jimmy Buffett, The Persuasions, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Billy Joel, The Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt, Dan Fogelberg, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Jonathan Edwards, John Denver, Steve Gillette, Tim Hardin, Deodato, Bill Withers, Arlo Guthrie, Don McLean, Joni Mitchell, Pat Metheny, Odetta, Blind Faith, Laura Nyro, Jimmy Webb, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Spencer Davis, Mike Bloomfield, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Emitt Rhodes, Jose Feliciano, Richie Havens, Randy Newman, Maynard Ferguson, Janis Ian, Mandrake Memorial, Elizabeth, Warren Zevon, Doc Watson, Merle Watson, Edgar Winter, Loudon Wainwright III, Tom Rush, Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, Dave Van Ronk, John Mayall, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohen, Martin Mull, Rick Nelson, Gordon Lightfoot, Tim Buckley, Luther Allison, The Strawbs, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Len Chandler, Michael Cooney, Rick von Schmidt, Eric Andersen, James Cotton, Leon Redbone, Tom Paxton, and Savoy Brown. - The Main Point var ett kafé och konsertlokal i Bryn Mawr utanför Philadelphia i USA som var öppet mellan åren 1964 och 1981. Det grundades efter att några besökare inspirerats av beslöt att starta ett kafé med tätare uppträdanden med modern amerikansk folkmusik. En av grundarna, Jeanette Campbell, blev ensam ägare och drev den ända fram till stängningen. Kaféets lokaler var små och hade låga biljettpriser utan möjlighet att reservera plats. Det blev snabbt populärt både bland besökare och musiker. På The Main Point uppträdde artister som Joni Mitchell, Arlo Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt och James Taylor både före och efter sina respektive genombrott. År 1975 radiosändes en Bruce Springsteen uppträdande från The Main Point. Den blev senare en spridd bootlegskiva och gavs 2011 ut av skivbolaget Left Field Media under namnet Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live at the Main Point 1975 utan att vara en del av Bruce Springsteens officiella skivkatalog.
