- The Kingdom (en español: El Reino), es una serie limitada de ocho (8) cómics ambientada en el universo DC; escrita por Mark Waid e ilustrada por Ariel Olivetti con portadas de , publicada en febrero de 1999. Esta surge como secuela de la aclamada serie Kingdom Come, la cual también fue escrita por Mark Waid. Uno de los elementos más destacables de esta obra es la creación del hipertiempo, concepto creado por Waid para explicar las diferencias en la continuidad entre las historias del universo DC y el multiverso presentado en Crisis on Infinite Earths; donde aplica la premisa de «todo es verdad». La ausencia de la calidad artistíca del dibujo de Alex Ross, repercutió en el poco impacto mediático que esta tuvo comparada con su predecesora. (es)
- "The Kingdom" is a story arc consisting of a two-issue, self-titled comic book limited series and multiple one-shot comics published by DC Comics in 1999. The story arc was written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Ariel Olivetti and Mike Zeck. It is both a sequel and, in some ways, a prequel to Kingdom Come, also by Mark Waid. Both books form an Elseworlds saga, as they are abstracted from official DC Comics continuity. The storyline extended into one-shot books entitled New Year's Evil: Gog, The Kingdom: Kid Flash, The Kingdom: Nightstar, The Kingdom: Offspring, The Kingdom: Planet krypton and The Kingdom: Son of the Bat. The entire storyline was later collected into a trade paperback. The kingdom does not use the same visual style created by Alex Ross, which was used in the four-issue Kingdom Come series. The story line in The Kingdom is a direct continuation and extension of the original storyline, fleshing out areas of the future that were not explored in the original four-part miniseries. While Kingdom Come can easily exist as a stand-alone story, The Kingdom is not a complete storyline in itself and exists only as a continuation of the previous storyline. (en)
