- Slow jam je obvykle zpomalená baladická jemná píseň s R&B-orientovanou melodií. Slow jamy jsou buď R&B balady nebo downtempo písně. Slow jam může mít Jazz/Funk/R'n'B//pop elementy. Název termínu pochází z doby, kdy kapela (SOLAR Records) nahrála píseň "Slow Jam" do svého alba Parking On The Dance Floor z roku 1983. (cs)
- Slow Jam ist ein Begriff aus dem Englischen und wird häufig im Zusammenhang mit Musikrichtungen wie Rhythm and Blues, R&B, Funk, Soul, Jazz und Hip-Hop verwendet. Der Ausdruck “Slow Jam” (deutsch: „langsamer Jam“) ist eine nähere Beschreibung für einen sanften oder langsamen Song. Die Song-Texte eines Slow Jams handeln in der Regel von Liebe und Freundschaft.
