- SecureDrop je open-source softwarová platforma používaná k zabezpečení komunikace mezi žurnalisty a jejich zdroji (obvykle whistleblowery). Původně tento systém vymyslel a vyvíjel Aaron Swartz s pod názvem DeadDrop. Po Aaronově smrti spustili pracovníci The New Yorker první prototyp platformy pod jménem Strongbox. Freedom of the Press Foundation převzala vývoj DeadDropu a přejmenovala ho na SecureDrop a od té doby ho používá mnoho novinářských organizací včetně ProPublica, The Guardian, The Intercept a The Washington Post. Z českých médií službu využívá např. portál iROZHLAS Českého rozhlasu. (cs)

- SecureDrop (englisch ‚Sicherer Einwurf‘) ist eine freie Plattform zur sicheren Kommunikation zwischen Journalisten und Whistleblowern. Die Webanwendung wurde ursprünglich unter dem Namen DeadDrop von Aaron Swartz, und Kevin Poulsen entwickelt. Die erste Instanz der Plattform wurde am 14. Mai 2013 unter dem Namen Strongbox von The New Yorker eingeführt. Nach dem Tod von Aaron Swartz wurde das Projekt im Oktober 2013 von der Freedom of the Press Foundation übernommen und unter dem Namen SecureDrop fortgeführt. Inzwischen gibt es Installationen von verschiedenen Organisationen, darunter sind auch The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Intercept,, die New York Times, die Süddeutsche Zeitung und der Heise-Verlag. 2016 erhielt SecureDrop den FSF Award. SecureDrop foi idealizado e implementado em sua primeira versão pelo falecido Aaron Swartz, sob o nome DeadDrop. A ONG Freedom of the Press Foundation adotou o projeto e o renomeou para SecureDrop.
