- S. Poniman (5 de julio de 1910 en Banda Aceh, Indias Orientales Neerlandesas - † 1 de enero de 1978, Yakarta) fue un cantante kroncong y actor cómico indonesio. Se dedicó a la música cuando se trasladó a Batavia (hoy Yakarta). En 1940 hizo su debut como director musical y como actor en una película titulada "Ketawa", además completando sus otras tres producciones antes de la ocupación japonesa. Cuando se desató la guerra provocada por el ejército japonés durante la invasión a Indonesia, S. Poniman empezó a trabajar como conductor de camiones pertenecientes a los militares para trasladar soldados, eso antes de formar parte de la industria cinematográfica en 1951. Después de la independencia de Indonesia del yugo holandés, S. Poniman se convirtió en la estrella principal del "Mad World". In 1940 he made his debut as music director and actor on the film Kedok Ketawa, completing three further productions before the Japanese occupation brought film production to a near-standstill. Poniman spent time as a soldier and truck driver before returning to the film industry in 1951, after Indonesia's independence, as a star of Dunia Gila. Between 1951 and 1958 he appeared in more than twenty films before leaving the struggling industry to become a trader. Poniman adalah seorang aktor yang pernah mencoba profesi lain seperti menjadi penyanyi keroncong, pemain drama, pelawak, sopir truk Jakarta-Semarang, juru foto dan pedagang. Pertama kali ia terjun ke dunia film pada tahun 1940. Ia juga sempat menjadi pimpinan perusahaan "Poniman Show and Film" yang telah menghasilkan beberapa buah film dokumenter. S. Poniman menempuh pendidikan di Inlandsche School. Sebelum ke film Poniman sudah terkenal sebagai penyanyi keroncong, pemain drama dan pelawak. Tahun 1940 ia terjun ke film sebagai figuran dalam "Kedok Ketawa", dilanjutkan dalam Siti Noerbaja (1941), Djantoeng Hati (1941). Tahun 1951 Poniman mulai memegang Peran Utama dalam film "Dunia Gila" bersama Rd. Mochtar dan Titin Sumarni. Film-film selanjutnya antara lain Pahit Pahit Manis (1952), Putri Solo (1953), Lenggang Djakarta (1953), Konde Tjioda (1953), Gula Guli (1953) Mertua Sinting ( 1954), Masuk Kampung Keluar Kampung (1955), Setulus Hatiku (1955), Apa Jang Kunanti (1957). Pada zaman perjuangan kemerdekaan, Poniman turut memanggul senjata dan pada tahun 1950-an pernah menjadi sopir truk Jakarta-Semarang. Antara tahun 1958 hingga 1971 ia mengalihkan profesinya menjadi pedagang. Tahun 1972 Poniman kembali bermain lewat film Sisa Sisa Laskar Pajang (1972). Film-filmnya yang terakhir adalah Aku Mau Hidup (1974), Putri Solo (1974), Rahasia Perawan (1975). Di luar sebagai pemain ia juga memimpin perusahaan Poniman Show and Film yang telah menghasilkan beberapa buah film dokumenter. Ia juga aktif sebagai Juru Foto sejak 1969. Poniman meninggal pada tanggal 1 Januari 1978 setelah sebelumnya jatuh pingsan di pemakaman Ratmi B-29. (in)

Nel 1940 debuttò come direttore musicale e attore nel film Kedok Ketawa, completando altre tre produzioni prima che l' occupazione giapponese portasse un arresto della produzione cinematografica locale. Trascorse quindi del tempo come soldato e camionista prima di tornare nell'industria nel 1951, a seguito dell'indipendenza dell'Indonesia, come stella di Dunia Gila. Tra il 1951 e il 1958 apparve in più di venti film prima di ritirarsi a causa di ristrettezze finanziarie e diventare un commerciante. Anche se infatti continuò a recitare in molti altri lungometraggi prima della sua morte, non riuscì mai più a riguadagnare la sua celebrità. (it)
