- Port Penrhyn (Walisisch: Porth Penrhyn) ist ein Hafen, der sich östlich von Bangor im nördlichen Wales befindet. Er liegt an der Flussmündung des Flusses . Während der Blütezeit der Schieferindustrie in Wales im 19. Jahrhundert war dieser Hafen von großer Bedeutung. Von dort wurde der Schiefer verschifft, der im Penrhyn-Steinbruch, dem damals größten Schiefersteinbruch der Welt, abgebaut wurde. Die Verschiffung von Schiefer von Port Penrhyn aus ist erstmals für 1713 belegt, als 14 Schiffe insgesamt 415.000 Schindeln nach Dublin transportierten. Der Hafen expandierte, nachdem die Leitung des Penrhyn-Landgutes selbst übernahm. 1790 wurde unter anderem ein steinerner Kai errichtet. Seit 1801 verband die Penrhyn Quarry Railway den Hafen mit dem Steinbruch. Der Hafen wurde in den Jahren 1829 bis 1830 und 1855 weiter ausgebaut. (de)

Antiguamente, era de gran importancia como el principal puerto para la exportación de la cantera de Penrhyn, la mayor cantera de pizarra en el mundo a finales del siglo XIX. Fue construida y ampliada más adelante, por el Penrhyn Quarry de la familia del cercano castillo de Penrhyn. Penrhyn es la palabra en idioma Galés para "promontorio". El puerto es utilizado por embarcaciones costeras con hasta aproximadamente 3.000 toneladas métricas de peso muerto (DWT) y por los buques pesqueros. Hay planes de expansión. (es)

It was formerly of great importance as the main port for the export of slate from the Penrhyn Quarry, the largest slate quarry in the world at the end of the nineteenth century. It was built, and later expanded, by the Pennant (later Douglas-Pennant) family of the nearby Penrhyn Castle. Penrhyn is the Welsh word for 'promontory'.
